Saying he was "deeply sorry," Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) resigned from Congress today, hours after ABC News questioned him about sexually explicit internet messages with current and former congressional pages under the age of 18. A spokesman for Foley, the chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, said the congressman submitted his resignation in a letter late this afternoon to Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert. Hours earlier, ABC News had read excerpts of instant messages provided by former male pages who said the congressman, under the AOL Instant Messenger screen name Maf54, made repeated references to sexual organs and acts. In a statement, Foley said, "I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent." The full details will be included in a report tonight on ABC World News with Charles Gibson.

What a schmuck to get caught like that? Oy. I guess since the McGreevey scandal is finally dying down it is time for a new political scandal to begin.
UPDATE: Here is some of IMs to his little page:
Maf54: You in your boxers, too? Teen: Nope, just got home. I had a college interview that went late. Maf54: Well, strip down and get relaxed.
Another message:
Maf54: What ya wearing? Teen: tshirt and shorts Maf54: Love to slip them off of you.
And this one:
Maf54: Do I make you a little horny? Teen: A little. Maf54: Cool.

What? Alec Baldwin has anger management problems? Never? |

ALEC Baldwin was a "total bastard" and "tyrant" on the set of "The Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing" – and drove Sarah Michelle Gellar and other crew members berserk with his rantings, says a source who worked on the upcoming movie. "He was always p – – – ed about the schedule of the film, and even once said he was doing it just for the money," said our insider. "He kept saying, ‘This is the last movie I’ll ever make’ to everyone when he was stomping around the set." Our source added that Gellar – whom the source credited as "very professional and hardworking" – recently called Baldwin a nice guy strictly for public relations’ sake. "She hated that he was always telling the director what to do and calling the shots about everything – and that he was constantly on the phone with his lawyer screaming at the top of his lungs and cursing," our spy relates. "Sarah thought it was unprofessional." Gellar’s rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, insists, "It’s completely not true. She loves Alex – they stuck together like glue. Sarah Michelle should be Alex’s publicist." But our source continued, "To top it all off, Alec doesn’t like her. He thinks she’s a pushy prima donna." The source also claims that Baldwin drove Gellar’s stylist, Patricia Field, off the set. A friend of Baldwin told Page Six, "If he raised his voice, it was over the custody of his daughter, Ireland, because [ex-wife] Kim [Basinger] made him insane. She had put unbelievable pressure on him . . . She’s a total [bleep]ing psychopath. And his daughter means everything to him." A rep for Baldwin declined comment. Still, the actor’s volcanic temper is legendary. Last April, actress Jan Maxwell quit the off-Broadway play "Entertaining Mr. Sloane," charging that Baldwin’s volatile behavior had "created an unhealthy and oppressive situation" on stage and off. She said Baldwin’s tantrums, which included putting his fist through a wall because the air-conditioning wasn’t high enough, made her fear for her "physical safety, mental health and artistic integrity."

Why is this guy still getting acting roles? His star dimmed over 10 years ago.

Access Hollywood fires 14 employees while they were out for lunch |

RATINGS-challenged NBC put the ax to "Access Hollywood" this week and abruptly fired 14 veteran staffers by heartlessly locking them out of the building as they returned from lunch. "It was really awful. Their ID cards wouldn’t open the gate, and then a security guard came over and told them they were no longer employed there," one insider told Page Six. "Of course, the bosses waited until they’d finished producing the day’s show before canning them." Among the casualties were: senior field producer John Davis and field producers Jennifer Lavin, David Garner and Jason Miller, our source said. Segment producer Lizza Morales, who was also booted, did manage to get inside and confronted executive producer Rob Silverstein. But he refused to talk and referred her to the show’s lawyer, Claudia Eden. The Thursday afternoon bloodbath in Los Angeles was the two-pronged result of NBC’s ratings woes and the show being more than $1 million over budget, our spy went on. "And a few months ago, NBC found out there’d been excessive spending by some executives on partying, champagne and strip clubs. There were worries some people might be let go, but NBC said, ‘No, no, don’t worry!’ And then this happened." "Access Hollywood" spokesman Joe Schlosser laughed when we asked him about the bloodbath, then got serious and said: "It has never been easy to make adjustments to the staff." He added the firings were part of a "restructuring of the show," then asked us not to report he had chuckled. He said he was unaware that those fired had been locked out. Some staffers who got tossed did get one consolation – they got calls and e-mails from host Nancy O’Dell, who said how sorry she was. Weekend co-anchor Shaun Robinson was seen crying after she learned what was going on. The bloodbath is a further black eye for NBC chairman Bob Wright, whom Page Six reported is soon to be replaced. Other sources say the troubled Peacock Network will soon begin across-the-board layoffs.

Defamer for the Steve-O photo (Thanks Michael!)
Does it really make difference? It is so disgusting and low-class and sad, I just had to post this to share with y’all what lowlifes these two are. And seriously if you are going to pee in public, have some shame on your face and not a freaking smile.

Tashi’s line makes an a$$ out of London’s Fashion Week |

This cheeky little number grabbed the audience’s attention at London Fashion Week yesterday. The daring short fabric wrap was part of the Tashi Spring/Summer 2007 collection. The outfit looks great on this finely toned model, but we suspect it would be bottom of most people’s shopping list.
Daily Mail
That is one of the ugliest outfits I have ever seen. Yuck.
