Scott Reeves is returning to soaps as Steven Lars Webber on General Hospital. He told TV Guide that he was ready to return to TV and GH was his first choice because he is BFFs with Steve Burton who plays Jason Morgan. He will join the show in December, “as the hospital’s new chief of staff and be thrown into a storyline involving his half-sister Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and the two men in her life, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and Nikolas (Tyler Christopher).” At this point he is only recurring.
Scott left The Young and The Restless to move to Nashville for a music career a few years ago with his wife, Melissa Reeves. Now that he is back in LA, I really hope that Melissa rejoins Days of our Lives as Jennifer. I so miss her and Metthew Ashford on the show.
A few weeks ABC announced that they were moving All My Children from NYC to LA and today they announced who will and won't be making the cross country move.
Here are the contracted actors who will be making the move: Brittany Allen, David Canary, Bobbie Eakes, Melissa Claire Egan, Stephanie Gatschet, Ricky Paull Goldin, Vincent Irizarry, Michael E. Knight, Susan Lucci, Jamie Luner, Adam Mayfield, JR Martinez, Cameron Mathison, Debbi Morgan, Cornelius Smith, Jr., Denise Vasi, Darnell Williams and Jacob Young.
Ray MacDonnell has announced that he will be retiring. We wish him well and our heartfelt congratulations. Thorsten Kaye will not be relocating to Los Angeles, and Alicia Minshew will be on maternity leave beginning November 2009. She will continue to appear on air through the month of December. Appearances by actors on recurring status will be determined by storyline needs and availability.
I am so glad that so many of them decided to make the move, it will help to keep the show alive and keep the feel it had in their old home. So are your favorites on the list?
Less than two weeks ago Guiding Light ended its run and now comes word that two more soaps might be cancelled next year. The Soapgeist says that the only reason why One Life to Live is still on the air is because The Aisha Tyler Show tested so poorly. If the show doesn’t pick up the ratings soon, ABC won’t be picking it up after next year. Over at CBS, As The World Turns is also rumored to be getting the ax soon. I wonder if their fate will be determined on how well Let’s Make A Deal does. If game shows make a comeback will more soaps be going away? I really hope not because I don’t know what I would do without Days of our Lives and General Hospital.
UPDATE: I am not very happy with General Hospital right now because they are replacing Greg Vaughn with the original Lucky, Jonathan Jackson according to TV Guide. Seriously what is wrong with Greg? I would rather they got rid of Elizabeth Webber, when was the last time her character actually added anything to the show? All she does is whine and act like whoa is me. Kind of like how I fell now after reading Greg Vaughn’s Tweets/
As of today, with sad regrets, I will no longer be apart of what has been a big part of me and my families life. GH and TPTB have choosen to take a new direction. Today is a sad day in the soap opera world as the longest running television show Guiding Light signs off forever with episode 15,762. Guiding Light premiered on the radio in January 1937 before switching over to TV June 30, 1952 and today after broadcasting for 72 years it says goodbye. It is truly sad when any soap opera end its long run, but this one is the saddest because it is the longest.
Thanks to Guiding Light for leading the way for all the remaining soap operas left on TV.
Last week’s General Hospital has all been leading up to tomorrow’s deadly carnival ride on ABC. But the ride is not the one that came with the carnival, but actually a drugged by Andrea, Edward Quatermaine plowing into the carnival goers with his car. Most of the people we love in Port Charles came out to honor a charity set up for Michael, but not all of them will leave alive. One resident will die, but who it is we won’t know until it starts playing out tomorrow.
I wonder who it will be? I just really hope it is not Jake because how many kids can you take away from poor Jason. Although I kind have my wishes who it should be because some of the recent castings have not been working for me!
BTW GH is the best when it comes to these thrilling storylines. So make sure to check it out tomorrow on ABC when a carnival that should be a happy place turns into a sad one.
