Savannah Guthrie has to wake up before the roosters in order to make it to the start of Today at 7a. However, today she overslept and almost missed the good mornings.
But with the help of the amazing hair and makeup team on the NBC news show, they worked their magic and made her look perfect in 15 minutes. This way, the viewers would not know that she had just gotten there.
The anchor almost got away with it, but Craig Melvin called her out on it. I have two words for him for doing that. They are, thank and you!

Let’s be honest. The news is depressing, and they need to do something to cheer us up! That is what Luke Burdsall does at CBS21 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The other day when he was anchoring with Ed Russo, Burdsall decided to play Made You Look with the weatherman. That move lightened the newscast and, I am sure, made their viewers smile.
I wish more newspeople would have fun on the air because we need it! Life is serious enough; we can all use some happiness when finding out how bad things really are in the world today.
Aureus’ Karen Firestone was doing a live shot for CNBC’s Squawk Box from her home, and there is a lot to squawk about.
It is not about what the contributor said; it was going on in the background. First, her dogs started barking. Then, a man in his underwear walked behind her.
Who said business news is boring? It isn’t. At least not this time.
Yesterday, KSTP was going live with their Eagle Cam, and their eagle-eyed viewers got more than they bargained for. That is because as Matt Belanger, Brandi Powell, and Jonathan Yuhas were watching Nancy laying on top of her egg, her baby daddy came over to get laid.
I guess he was still feeling amorous after Valentine’s Day, so he decided he wanted to do a Nick Cannon and make another baby. Or as Chris Egert put it, “We might have another egg soon.”
So, today we learned more than just about the weather in Minneapolis. We learned how eagles have sex. At least he gave her a little massage as foreplay before he went all in.
I love live TV because you never know what is going to happen!
KABC’s Leslie Lopez had just started doing her weather report this morning when she had an unexpected visitor. Her 2-year-old son Nolan decided he wanted to help her tell the viewers how hot it is going to be in LA through the Super Bowl.
When you are a mom of a toddler and you are doing weather in LA, you are prepared for anything and everything. So she picked him and kept giving the forecast like none of that ever happened.
That is what being a professional is all about. My hat is off to the meteorologist.
Oh, and I also love that he was wearing green pants, so he was part of the map.
I hope he comes back for more newscasts because I don’t feel bad about it being nearly 90 degrees tomorrow.
