Deborah Norville is saying goodbye to Inside Edition
April 2nd, 2025 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Deborah Norville has been hosting Inside Edition for 30 years, and today she made a huge announcement about her future with the news magazine.

“It has been such an honor and privilege to be here at INSIDE EDITION for all these years. A milestone like this is a time for reflection, and on reflection, I have decided that now is the time to move on from INSIDE EDITION,” she told the camera. “They made me a lovely offer to stay, but there are things I’d like to do and places I want to do them that continuing here doesn’t permit. So, at the end of the season, I’ll be moving on. I’ve got some exciting things in the works, which I’ll talk about later, but what I want to say now is what a privilege it’s been to lead INSIDE EDITION for all these years. To work with the incredibly talented team here, and to be invited into your homes every day, it’s an honor I don’t take lightly.”

What a run she has had. Not many other hosts can say that they have fronted anything as long as that. None of the late or daytime hosts can claim that.

This traffic report is a real pisser
March 27th, 2025 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

There was a water main break in New Castle County, Delaware, and it was the story of the day for Fox29 in Philadelphia yesterday.

It was not because of the water coming from the ground. It was because of how traffic reporter Bob Kelly and anchor Mike Jerrick handled it on Good Day Philadelphia.

When Jerrick saw the water gushing up from the ground on the weather map, he had to go over there and have some fun. So he positioned himself to make it look like he was peeing all over the highway! And it looked like he drank a day’s worth of water in one sitting and finally made it to the urinal.

His stream was so strong, his urologist is going to be proud.

On that note, I hope he beats his prostate cancer. Laughing about it is the best medicine! So keep fighting. It is the most curable cancer when it is caught early!

Sheinelle Jones explains her Today show absence
January 15th, 2025 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Sheinelle Jones has not been seen on Today since December 18th, and people have been wondering where she is. Today, she revealed why.

She posted this on social media: “I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter.

“It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not on the support of my Today show family, but to also have all of you,” she added. “Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon”

The co-anchor did not give any other details besides that.

She is married to Uche Ojeh, and they have three children: Kayin, 16, and twins Clare and Uche, 12. People magazine seems to hint that it is her husband who is the one who is seriously ill.

I am praying for her family.

Bill Hader became a newsman for the day
January 10th, 2025 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

For the last few days, the newspeople are the real stars in Hollywood. However, there was one star who wanted to be a reporter for the day.

KABC’s Josh Haskell shared this story, “An only in LA moment on Thursday at road block for #PalisadesFire Resident trying to gain access came up to news van as if he was part of our team, wanted to help cover, ride with us. Then, he pulled down his mask, smiled and it was Bill Hader! Couldn’t have been nicer!”

I love this story. It probably helped both of them to have this moment.

Can we take time to thank all of the newspeople who have been working nonstop and risking their lives to cover the fires.

Craig Melvin is the new Hoda Kotb
November 14th, 2024 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Two months ago, Hoda Kotb announced that she was leaving Today in the new year. Today, she announced her last day will be January 10th.

So, who will be sitting in her chair next to Savanah Guthrie during the two hours of Todaty on January 13th? That person is Craig Melvin! He will continue to host the third hour with Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer, and Sheinelle Jones.

“We are beyond thrilled to have Craig step into the co-anchor chair,” Libby Leist, senior vice president of TODAY, said in a statement. “He’s been an integral and beloved part of our family. From breaking news coverage in the field, to presidential interviews, to multiple Olympics and Super Bowls, Craig’s shown he has the talent and the range to cover all that we do here at TODAY. And he does it without ever losing that Southern charm.”

NBC News also said they have not yet found someone to replace Hoda in the fourth hour. So, they will have different people trying out for the spot on Jenna & Friends.

Who do you think should get the job? I hope they go with a comedian.

Back to Melvin. I think he is the perfect choice for the job. What do you think?
