Two weeks ago Katie Holmes filed for divorce from her husband of five years Tom Cruise, and today the former couple announced that they have reached a settlement.
The actress’ attorney Jonathan Wolfe released a statement to People saying, “The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.
“This result could not have been achieved without the hard work of my partner Gary Skoloff and our co-counsel Allan Mayefsky, Michael Mosberg and Larry Trachtenberg of Aronson Mayefsky and Sloan and Peter Walzer and Chris Melcher of Walzer & Melcher in California.
“We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”
I wonder how many celebrities will now be using her lawyer when they get divorced because he has worked a miracle in a very short amount of time. Seriously if I were married and planning on getting a divorce, I would use him.
At this point we don’t what they got in the settlement deal, but I am sure the tabloids will be speculating different things in their next editions.
BTW I think if they reached a settlement today, their divorce should be finalized in six months. So come January Cruise will be free to marry an actress 11 years younger than Katie who will file for divorce from him when she turns 33.

Now that Katie Holmes’ love life has gone to heck, it looks like her daughter’s is picking up. Suri Cruise was seen hanging out with an unknown boy yesterday and I am wondering if the two of them are more than friends? Well as much as you can be when you are just single digits old.

On the day that the Mayans predicted the end of the world Tom Cruise’s latest movie Jack Reacher is coming out and now I get why they saw that day as an end date. It is not that the movie looks that bad, it’s just I don’t believe him as a kick a$$ vigilante because of his height. He is just not intimidating when he is surrounded by all of these tall guys. So I did some research according to author, Lee Child who gave Reacher life in his books, the character’s measurements are 6’5″, 220-250 lbs., 50″ chest and that is so not Tom Cruise who is about a foot shorter than that. Is his height a problem for you as much as it is to me?

Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.” No reason was given, but the two have been rumored to be splitting since they got married five years ago.
As shocking as the news is, it is not surprising because they have both been in NY as he films a movie and he has been staying at hotel while she stayed in their apartment. Plus they have been together for seven years and that is about how long a good contract lasts for, right?
BTW I know I am reading to much into the lawyer’s statement, but I wonder why he says her daughter and not their daughter? Could our speculations that he is not the father have been confirmed in that statement??? Probably not, but…
UPDATE: Tom Cruise’s publicist gave this statement to People, “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy.” Why did eh have to see his three children because it ruins my theory on Suri not being his.
