Deal With It, you are going to love this show!
July 17th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

So let’s stay you are at a public place and someone offers you a chance to earn some money, but only if you do what a celebrity guest tells you to do to the person you are with in an ear piece. Well that is the premise of Deal With It that debuts on TBS tonight at 10:30p.
During tonight’s season premiere Howie Mandel asks a guy to do 5 different things; and if he can do it, he will get $5,000. For the first level the money is low, just $250. But as you level up the dollar amount increase until you have the chance to go for the big bucks. If the challenges become too much for you to handle, then you have to scream “I can’t deal with it!” At that point you get to take only the money you earned up until that point. Not a bad way to earn some cash, as you long as you don’t mind some of the really crazy sh!t they make you do on camera and in public.
While it is fun to watch the person do everything that they are told, it is more fun to watch the reaction of the person who is not in on the joke. Personally they deserve the money just as much as the person who was selected to be the contestant.
So tonight’s episode we get to see EP Howie Mandel have a puppet and along with Yvette Nicole Brown, in the coming weeks that task will be given to Adam Corolla, Joan and Melissa Rivers, Josh Gad and Bobby Lee to name a few. And you will have to tune in to watch this funny on-camera prank show or deal with the consequences of not watching!

TBS kidnapps American Dad from Fox!
July 16th, 2013 under Seth MacFarlane, TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

TBS announced today that starting next season, American Dad will be airing new episodes there instead of on Fox. Seth MacFarlane’s show will air its 10th season on Fox and then begin it’s 11th on TBS late next year.
Which makes me think that Fox is so pissed at Seth MacFarlane for Dads that they’re sending American Dad to another network as punishment. Not that I have a problem with it because I think it is better fit for the animated sitcom.

It’s ladies night on Sullivan & Son and the feeling’s right for Kunal Nayyar!
June 27th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p on TBS, Sullivan & Son decide to try ladies night and they wind up attracting The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar.
Nayyar does a complete 180 from Raj in this role and you are going to love seeing him play the ultimate playa! He will hit on the ladies like only his infamous character wishes he could do when he is drunk. Yeah he is that much of a stud and he will actually land a lady tonight. Who is she? She is the bar’s tom boy Melanie and she transforms for the special night.
But ladies night isn’t only about Nayyar, Hank also meets his soul mate and they have more in common then you would ever guess that they do. Think you know what it is? You won’t, but you will thoroughly love the storyline! It is funny and very touching at the same time. Which is why I love Hank’s character so much.
Yesterday I was on a conference call with Kunal Nayyar and he talked about playing this role. Since he’s playing the King of Pickup Lines; when he was asked what his favorite one was on the show, he said it was “I like to go for the crazy girls. You know, crazy in the head, crazy in the bed.”
Something you would never ever hear him say on The Big Bang Theory, so what is it like for him to play such an opposite role from the one we know him for. He said, “It was liberating. It was a lot of fun, you know, it’s always fun to play characters who don’t have a filter because, you know, in society you have a filter. Everyday you have a filter in your life. We live by these rules that are governed on us, you know, whether it’s family rules or rule of friendship or rules of etiquette or rules of manners.” Then he added, “It’s really fun to play a character who just throws all of the rules out of the book – out of the door and just says what’s on his mind and is sort of liberated and trying to pick up women this way and then completely lies about his ethnicity.” And since he was playing an American on the episode, he couldn’t use his natural accent, so he would have a problem getting some of the words out. In fact when he does an Indian accent on the show, he was told not to use his real accent. And he let us know what that was like for him, “Like, so it was funny. I was playing, like, opposite-opposite of myself.”
Even though this role is not something he has ever done on camera before, it was something he had done in his private life. He shared with us this little tidbit, “I know it’s a silly thing but my friends talked about having a big Ed Hardy party where we would just dress from head to toe in Ed Hardy and skulls and, like, walk around and just pretend to be these type of guys. And so, that’s, like, where it came from. I was like I know how to be this kind of guy because we talked a lot about pretending to be this guy and it was fun, you know.” In fact he told us he might’ve enjoyed doing the role a little bit too much because he said, “It was really fun to just go for it. You know, I didn’t censor myself and I wasn’t self conscious about it. I really, really enjoyed it. Maybe too much. I’m not sure my wife was very happy.” While she might not be happy with it, I promise you will be because he will have you in hysterics. So much so if you have any liquids in your mouth you will be spitting them out just to laugh! So tune in to Sullivan & Son tonight at 10p on TBS!

Rizzoli & Isles is hot on summer’s trail
June 25th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

Rizzoli & Isles is back on TNT at 9p and tonight they are getting political. Well not them, but the case they are investigating. A local politician is shot ala JFK style and now they have to figure out who did. All signs point to the husband, but is he the one who did it?
Since this is Rizzoli & Isles we also focus on their personal lives. The episode takes place weeks after Isles’ kidney transplant surgery and she is still dealing with the physical and mental effects from it. Has she reunited with her mother and her sister or did they take the kidney run? Then Rizzoli gets a huge surprise when Casey comes back to see her. Is she ready to take him back? You will have to tune in to find out.
I can’t quite place my finger on what does show does so well, but it is one of the very few police procedurals that actually gets it right.

Have you accepted Sullivan & Son as a must watch comedy yet?
June 20th, 2013 under TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]

Have you ever judged a television show by its first appearance; and then after you made your assumptions about it, you decided not to watch it. Well that is kind of what Sullivan & Son is all about tonight at 10p on TBS. When our favorite bar gang since Cheers realize they are all alone on a Saturday night, they decide to make some changes. They have decided they will not be so judgmental about the people they are going out with. So Melanie (Valerie Azlynn) sees a cute guy sitting at a table and she decides to go out with him. He has an annoying habit, but the guys convince her to see past it. Then there is Owen (Owen Benjamin), who says he will go out with the first girl who walks through the door. When a beautiful woman is that person, he wants to turn her down because she is older than him. Again the guys convince him to do it. The two of them really relate to each other, and it might not be a good thing that they do. Finally it is Steve’s (Steve Byrne) turn and he has met his perfect woman. But no one is perfect, so what is her flaw?
The moral of tonight’s show is being picky is a good thing, except when it comes to Sullivan & Son unless you pick to watch the show every week on TBS!
Oh and I highly suggest not drinking anything when you watch this show because you will wind up spitting it out when you are laughing so hard at some of the jokes!
