So remember a few years ago when Danny DeVito appeared on The View still drunk from downing too much Limoncello with George Clooney the night beforehand. Well the same thing sort of happened to Whoopi Goldberg on the show today. The Oscar winning host hates to fly, so when she has to she makes sure to drug up. Well the effects of the sedatives didn’t wear off in enough time so she did the show still under the influence and Gawker made a best of video of her slurring her words as much as the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star did when he was on the show!
After watching Whoopi’s appearance on the today’s show, I say let’s get all the women high on sedatives before the show. It will probably be the most entertaining hour of television ever and the ratings will go through the roof. And if it is a success maybe they should do it every day, I know it would get me to finally watch The View daily.
Barbara Walters announced on The View today that she is going in for heart surgery later this week. The 80 year old news legend is going to have surgery to replace a faulty heart valve. She is expecting to take at least a month off from work to heal and she is expected to make a full recovery. Here is to hoping she has a speedy recovery because someone needs to keep Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck in check on the ABC talker.

Current View host Whoopi Goldberg was photographed hugging former View host Rosie O’Donnell and I don’t think Barbara Walters is going to like that. Oh to be a fly on the wall when Baba Wawa saw the picture. Good thing Whoopi has an Oscar winner before her name or I think she would be gone…unless that is her goal?
After cancelling on Adam Lambert three times after his infamous AMA performance, ABC will finally allow him back on their air on December 9th and 10th. The American Idol runner-up will be featured on Barbara Walters Most Fascinating People and then he will appear on her show The View the next day. I guess ABC felt her shows were safer than the others because they don’t have to worry about him kissing a girl, unlike if he were on Jimmy Kimmel Live where he could smooch Jimmy or on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve where he could he could make out with Ryan Seacrest at midnight.
So now that he will be back on ABC again will his 15 minutes start to run out soon? I still haven’t gotten over how much he destroyed Mad World on American Idol.
LaToya Jackson is going to fill in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck on at least two episodes (September 16th and 18th) of The View and you know it is going to be good. I hate to watch the show, but heck I will DVR it and skip through anything that isn't her because you never know what she is going to say! Personally I wish she was sitting in for Paula Abdul on American Idol, but at least this is start.
ABC also announced that Victoria Beckham will be a guest on the show for the first time on September 14th. Oh and I guess the Kathy Griffin ban is over because she will be on the show on the 18th. I really hope that she is respectful to LaToya when it comes to Michael Jackson because Kathy is the type who would think it is funny to make inappropriate jokes about him even though it is way too soon to do it around LaToya.
BTW in case you care Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be back from maternity leave in mid-October.
