Steve Carell is on The Tonight Show tonight and he told Jay Leno that the word “lunch-meats” makes him cringe and he considers it offensive. He didn’t say why and I can’t figure out what is so bad about. Unless he had issues with bologna sandwiches when was kid? It isn’t like the cold cut smells bad and I am sure with his schnoz he a bad smelling meat could make you cringe.
When I went to the movies this week they had a trailer for Seeking a Friend for the End of the World with Steve Carell and the movie looked so horrible, I had to wonder if he regrets leaving The Office to be just a “movie star”? Seriously when was the last time he did a descent movie? I’ll wait here while you go to IMBD and check out his past films. Still scrolling down? Still scrolling? Can’t believe how long it has been? You know what, it’s not too late for him to go back to NBC show, right?
It is very rare that we get to see what goes on behind closed doors when an actor and the studio pick the poster for their film together, but thanks to FunnyOrDie we are getting to see just that. Steve Carell let us in on his meeting on choosing one for Crazy Stupid Love and he was not happy with their original mock ups. He has in his contract that his head must be 20% larger than all the other stars in the shot with him and they had not done that. So it appears to me that the size of his face must be the same size of his ego.
Sorry I am still bitter because I saw another one of his box office bombs over the weekend and I am still not over how bad and unfunny Dinner for Schmucks is. He left The Office for a movie career, but I can’t remember the last time he did a watchable movie. Can you?
Before Steve Carell was a 40 Year Old Virgin, his future self was trying to stop him from getting some in Second City’s Life As We Know It! How cute was that 1991 sketch with the 29 year old actor in his first televised role?
Warner Bros. is close to setting Anne Hathaway to star alongside Steve Carell in "Get Smart," the feature adaptation of Mel Brooks and Buck Henry’s sitcom creation. Peter Segal is directing. Hathaway, who last starred in the summer sleeper "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Brokeback Mountain," will play the role originated on the small screen by Barbara Feldon. Carell will play the Smart role originated by Don Adams. Carell, who most recently wrapped the Tom Shadyac-directed Universal comedy "Evan Almighty," is currently starring for Disney in "Dan in Real Life." He returns to his NBC sitcom "The Office" in January and once he wraps the season, reports for "Get Smart" in March.
