Last season, Grey’s Anatomy brought back several cast members, including Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane. This season, we know they are bringing back Meredith’s late mother (Kate Burton) for a few episodes. She is not the only cast member who is checking back into Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
According to Deadline,Kate Walsh is reprising her role as Addison Montgomery. Walsh left the show at the end of the third season to lead the spinoff Private Practice for six seasons.
We don’t know how long she will be on the medical drama, nor why she is back. But, I am sure all be answered soon enough.
All of these stars returning proves the show was at its best when it first started. Too bad they can’t recapture their golden days.
Last season, several doctors checked out some of the medical dramas they were on. Their departure makes room for new medical professionals.
Over in Seattle on Grey’s Anatomy, Peter Gallagher checks in as Dr. Alan Hamilton, who knew Ellis Grey (Kate Burton) back in the day, according to Variety. It sounds like now we know how they are going to incorporate the late Ellis Grey back into the series.
Meanwhile, over on the other side of the country in Manhattan, New Amsterdam is getting a new surgeon. Sandra Mae Frank is playing Dr. Elizabeth Wilder, a deaf surgeon. Like her character, Frank is also hearing-impaired.
We will see both actors debut in the season premieres of their series. The ABC drama returns on September 30th, and the NBC one is back on the 21st.
Last season, Grey’s Anatomy brought back a lot of characters from their deaths like McDreamy, McSteamy, and O’Malley. Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane, and T.R. Knight came to Merideth Grey while she was in a COVID-19 coma.
But then, at the end of the season, she woke up and recovered from coronavirus. Therefore, you would think they are done with dead people. They are not. Deadline is reporting that Kate Burton will reprise her role as Ellis Grey, Merideth’s dead mother, for a few episodes. She was last seen alive on the medical dramedy during the third season but has appeared in dreams afterward.
We don’t know how they will bring her back, but do we really care?
They should just cast Haley Joel Osment on the series and have him walking around the hospital saying, “I see dead people.” That is pretty much what the show has been reduced to.
Hopefully, a year from now, we can be saying, “I see a dead show” because it got cancelled.
If you have been anxiously awaiting any news about Bridgerton’s second season, you are not going to like this news. That is because the period drama has been shut down for a second time this month due to VD. Not as in a venereal disease, but as COVID-19’s variant delta.
The show’s production was halted earlier this month because someone tested positive, according to Variety. Then on Friday, when they were finally able to go back in production in London, someone else tested positive. So once again, filming was stopped for the foreseeable future.
Hopefully, this will be the last time because we need our softcore porn fix since Skinemax went away.
Ellen Pompeo spent the last season of Grey’s Anatomy reuniting with a lot of her past co-stars. I guess she liked reconnecting with them because yesterday, she had lunch with McSteamy and Alex Karev.
Although, it looks like Justin Chambers has hit hard times since he left the show. I mean, why else would he be taking their order?
