Big Time Rush was performing in Philly yesterday, and they had a little surprise for their audience. As in, they were about to get Rick Rolled by Rick Astley.
How did the packed house feel about that? They loved it because no matter how old the crowd is, they are never going to give up on Astley and his song Never Going to Give You Up.
When it comes to Astley, that is not the first time he rolled out on the stage at Mann Center. His Facebook revealed, “Incidentally, the last time Rick was on that stage was on his first US tour in 1989.”
And he still looks the same a third of a century later. Who else feels old now?
Rick Astley recently released a remastered version of his debut album, Whenever You Need Somebody, which includes his notorious hit Never Gonne Give You Up.
About a year ago, he decided that he wanted to remake the music video of the song frame by frame via animation. And today, we got to see that dream come true.
He says he loves it. Do you love it too? I do.

We know what being RickRolled is about, but do you know how it all started?
In honor of the 15th anniversary of the global phenomenon, the Guinness Book of World Records shared how it all began, “On March 29, 2007, Rockstar released their latest GTA IV trailer, which caused their website to crash.
“4chan.org then used the defunct link to redirect people to Rick Astley’s 1987 hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.”
That is kind of a letdown. But, I am never gonna give up RickRolling people. Will you give it up?
Oh, there is one more interesting fact about RickRolling that they shared. To find out what it is, then you must click here.
Rick Astley likes to go on YouTube and record covers from musicians you would not expect him to sing like Foo Fighters’ Everclear.
Today, he sang Gayle’s ABCDEFU, and I cannot stop listening to it. I am not sure if it is because I like it more than the original (sorry, Gayle. I do love your f*cking single.). Or it could be because I got turned on every time he sang f*ck. And that word is mentioned a lot in this tune.
I feel like I have been Rick Rolled and not in the way it is intended to be. And that is a very good thing.
` New Kids on the Block is hitting the road starting in May with Rick Astley, Salt-N-Pepa, and En Vogue. So, they all decided to release a song that would take us back to when they had their biggest hits, the ’80s.
If you are going to do that, then you might as well make a music video paying tribute to the biggest videos of the decade. And that is what is they did with Bring Back the Time.
So what videos are featured in Bring Back The Time? They are Journey’s Separate Ways, Devo’s Whip It, A Flock Of Seagulls’ I Ran (So Far Away), Talking Heads’ Once in a Lifetime, Twisted Sister’s We’re Not Going to Take It, Robert Plant’s Addicted to Love, Madonna’s Vogue, Duran Duran’s Rio, Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell, Toni Basil’s Mickey, Max Headroom, and Michael Jackson’s Beat It.
If the tour is as much fun as the video, then everyone is going to be Bitchin’ time. Unless they play as bad as those wigs.
