The best part of Project Runway moving to Lifetime is we got Models of the Runway! The show that airs after Project Runway on Thursdays at 11p goes behind the scenes with the models that up until now have been silent and let’s just say they have a lot to say. It’s about time we finally heard what they had to say about the designers and the clothes they design.
So are you a model and think you could walk the Project Runway and make Models of the Runway interesting than The Weinstein Company is looking for you!!!
Hopeful models can enter the Models of the Runway Casting Challenge on myLifetime.com, MySpace at www.myspace.com/modelsoftherunway or ProjectRunway.com, where they can complete an online application and upload an introductory video and three photos of themselves. They will also be required to submit other materials, including a brief essay that outlines why they feel they deserve to be on Models of the Runway and how, if selected, it would change their lives. Functionality for Models of the Runway Casting Challenge will be provided by leading online interactive casting site GotCast.com.
The winner of the Models of the Runway Casting Challenge will be selected from a multiple round, online voting process in conjunction with guidance from the Program’s producers and Lifetime during the final stage of the competition. Call for entries and the first round of voting on myLifetime.com, MySpace and ProjectRunway.com will end September 20, 2009, when the challenge’s contestant pool will be reduced by approximately 25%. Remaining contestants will be required to provide additional videos and information to secure more online votes to advance to the third round. The Models of the Runway Casting Challenge contestants will then be put through the next round of online voting, with five prospective models scheduled to be announced on October 31, 2009. The winner will be unveiled in November of this year.
Hurry up and enter and if you do let me know! BTW don’t forget to watch Project Runway tonight on Lifetime at 10p where the designers work in pairs and you know that spells tension. And that is not the only show we will see tension on tonight because from the previews of Models of the Runway that airs at 11p looks like not all the models are getting along!!!
In other Weinstein Company news, the critically acclaimed independent movie studio has acquired the rights to The King’s Speech. The movies tells the story of the man who would become King George VI, the father of the current Queen, Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George ‘Bertie’ VI (Colin Firth) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded nervous stammer and considered unfit to be King, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war. Sounds like a really interesting movie and you know TWC will do it right!
Project Runway is finally back tonight at 10p on a new network, Lifetime, in a new location, LA with new producers, Bunim Murray and even with all those changes it is still the same old show we know and love. Seriously I am so excited for Project Runway to see how all the new things added to The Weinstein Company’s show will change it up and largely because I have missed it so much!!! There is one other huge add for the show on its new network, they are adding a spinoff Models of the Runway and we finally hear what they have to say about some of those hideous outfits they are forced to wear from their designers. This show is going to be hot and I can’t wait to watch it at 11p to see how cold they get towards each other. And one last thing to lead into all Project Runway premiere night on Lifetime…an All-Star Challenge that starts it off at 8p!!!
To help launch Project Runway on August 20th on its new network, Lifetime will air a two hour special reuniting some of the most popular designers for Project Runway: All-Star Challenge. The 8 designers will have to create a winning fashion line with the guidance of Tim Gunn and get the approval from their old judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. So who are the All-Stars going for the $100,000 prize?
Daniel Vosovic, Season 2 Santino Rice, Season 2 Jeffrey Sebelia, Season 3 Uli Herzner, Season 3 Mychael Knight, Season 3 Chris March, Season 4 Sweet P, Season 4 Korto Momolu, Season 5
This is a great idea, I just wish they had their won series than just a two-hour special, but it is better than nothing!
Last week I posted promos of the designers from Project Runway, and I was not feeling the changes. But today Lifetime released the trailer for the show and now I am excited for it again! Seriously how good does it look! Actually what looks even better is Models of the Runway, about time we heard what they had to say! I can’t wait to hear them diss the designers’ dresses. How long have you wondered what they were think about some of the things they have been forced to wear?
I can’t wait to see both shows when they premiere on Lifetime on August 20th!!!
Project Runway will not air until August 20th on its new network Lifetime, but just from this promo you can tell this is not the same show it was on Bravo. Bunim Murray is now producing the show and you really get that Real World feel in those spots and I have to say I didn’t like it all. Maybe and hopefully the show will be different as a whole, but if the show is going to flow like that I might not stick around to see who makes to Fashion Week. Am I the one who didn’t like those Meet the Designer promos?
