Evil returns with one of its most creative episodes
June 12th, 2022 under Paramount+. [ Comments: 14 ]

Evil is back for its third season, and it is a charm. This is the first season that was produced for Paramount+ instead of CBS, and they are taking advantage of it being on a streaming service.

The show is about Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), a forensic psychologist, David Acosta (Mike Colter), a former journalist turned priest, and Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi), a technology expert who has to prove if religious phenomena are from Gd or from man.

On the season premiere, there is a company that is trying to find out if someone really loses 21 grams when they die that is not related to bodily extractions.

The company has reached out to the church to find out if there is anyone that they know that can be used as a subject. There is a priest with cancer who has less than a day to live, so he volunteers to be that subject.

Everything goes as planned, and the late priest loses 21 grams when he dies. However, what happens next will leave everyone speechless except him…

Interesting concept, right? And there is a lot more like that coming up this season.

And for those of you who are wondering about Leland (Michael Emerson)? He is still there, and he is still evil. This season, he has set his eyes on one of Bouchard’s daughters. What will Bouchard do to fight back? And we learned last season you don’t want to fuck with her.

And you don’t want to miss this series that takes on unexplained religious oddities in a way that leaves you on the edge of your seat every week.

Beavis and Butt-Head are back dumber than ever!
June 2nd, 2022 under Paramount+. [ Comments: 10 ]

Just when you think that we couldn’t get any dumber as a nation, Beavis and Butt-Head will return to our small screens later this month. So they’re back to Outer Space in Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe streaming June 23rd on Paramount+.

According to the press release, “the dumbest science fiction movie ever made” deals with the two of them winding up at space camp through “creative sentencing” from a juvenile court judge in 1998. Mistaking a docking simulator for something else (huh huh), Beavis and Butt-Head excel at it and are asked to join the space shuttle mission in a PR move. After ruining the mission, they are left for dead in space and end up going through a black hole and reemerging back on Earth in 2022, only to discover a very different world – and find themselves considered Buttholes of Interest by the NSA, the governor of Texas, and a highly intelligent version of themselves from a parallel universe. Also they almost lose their virginity, but don’t.

Of course, they don’t lose their virginities. They wouldn’t be able to stop chuckling long enough to do it. And now, I am picturing them having sex. I am going to have to watch the trailer again to get that image out of my head.

Oh, and if this is not enough good news for you, then how about every episode of the show has been remastered, and it is streaming on Paramount+ as you read this!

The Good Fight gives its closing argument
May 27th, 2022 under Paramount+. [ Comments: none ]

Paramount+ announced that this upcoming season of The Good Fight will be the series’ last one. It is the legal drama’s 6th season and the franchise’s 13th. The Good Wife, the show it spun off of, aired for 7 seasons on CBS.

“We’ve LOVED fighting ‘The Good Fight’ these last six seasons. To be able to tell stories about an upside-down world in real time has been a gift. And to have worked with these talented, brilliant, generous actors, writers and crew has been a blessing,” said Robert and Michelle King, series co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers. “Our hope-slash-scheme is to find ways to work with all of them again in the future.”

Before the Kings get to work with them again, they have to finish filming this last season. What can we expect in their farewell season? The press release says, “Diane feeling like she’s going crazy, struggling with an uneasy sense of déjà vu, with everything from Roe v. Wade, to voting rights, to Cold War aggressions returning. Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.”

The final 10 episodes begin streaming on September 8th.

What is the next city to reunite for The Real World Homecoming?
March 31st, 2022 under Paramount+. [ Comments: 10 ]

Paramount+ has had huge success with The Real World Homecoming. The series reunites casts from the previous seasons of The Real World. The first two cities to take part in the sequel were the first two that took part in the original.

Therefore, we thought that New York and Los Angeles would be followed up with San Fransisco. We were wrong. So, if not SF, then London? Nope. Miami? Nope. Boston? Nope. Seattle? Nope. Hawaii? Nope. New Orleans? Yep.

Finally, they got seven of their strangers to get real again. But do we care about their season because I want San Fran? That was their best season because of Pedro Zamora and Puck, as much of an asshole, the latter was. He was their first real villain.

Now, having said that. Even though I didn’t watch David “Tokyo” Broom, Melissa Beck, Jamie Murray, Danny Roberts, Matt Smith, Julie Stoffer, and Kelley Wolf’s first go around, that trailer makes me want to watch the second one when it begins streaming on April 20th.

Can someone catch me up on their original season?

CBS didn’t want SEAL Team, but Paramount+ wants more
February 1st, 2022 under David Boreanaz, Paramount+. [ Comments: none ]

CBS decided to move SEAL Team season 5 to Paramount+ after a few final episodes on broadcast. Today, the streaming service announced that it did so well they are picking up the military drama that stars David Boreanaz for season 6.

“We are very excited to welcome SEAL TEAM back for another season on Paramount+,” said Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “The show’s loyal fanbase followed the series to its new exclusive home, and it has proven to be a high-performing title for the service, consistently in the top 10 most-watched original series. We can’t wait for the fans to see what our brilliant creative team has in store for Team Bravo next season!”

Say you what you want about streaming services, but they are helping series get the proper chance to say goodbye.

Oh, and there is some more renewal news. Paramount+ picked up The Game sequel for a second season. And Fox is staying in Hell’s Kitchen for two more seasons.
