Another Mel Gibson apology |

Mel Gibson’s statement, released to the news media early Tuesday, five days after his drunken driving arrest in Malibu:
There is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of anti-Semitic remark. I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words that I said to a law enforcement officer the night I was arrested on a DUI charge.
I am a public person, and when I say something, either articulated and thought out, or blurted out in a moment of insanity, my words carry weight in the public arena. As a result, I must assume personal responsibility for my words and apologize directly to those who have been hurt and offended by those words.
The tenets of what I profess to believe necessitate that I exercise charity and tolerance as a way of life. Every human being is God’s child, and if I wish to honor my God I have to honor his children. But please know from my heart that I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith.
I’m not just asking for forgiveness. I would like to take it one step further, and meet with leaders in the Jewish community, with whom I can have a one on one discussion to discern the appropriate path for healing.
I have begun an ongoing program of recovery and what I am now realizing is that I cannot do it alone. I am in the process of understanding where those vicious words came from during that drunken display, and I am asking the Jewish community, whom I have personally offended, to help me on my journey through recovery. Again, I am reaching out to the Jewish community for its help. I know there will be many in that community who will want nothing to do with me, and that would be understandable. But I pray that that door is not forever closed.
This is not about a film. Nor is it about artistic license. This is about real life and recognizing the consequences hurtful words can have. Its about existing in harmony in a world that seems to have gone mad.

I think this was wriiten by Alan Nierob, Disney Execs and anyone else that is financially suffering for his words and not him.

Deputy James Mee is Jewish |

The sheriff’s deputy who arrested Mel Gibson for drunken driving said in an interview that he feels bad for damage to the star’s reputation but hopes Gibson thinks twice before drinking and driving. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy James Mee, who is Jewish, said that he considered it a routine arrest and did not take any comments made by Gibson seriously. "I don’t take pride in hurting Mr. Gibson," said Mee, a 17-year deputy. "What I had hoped out of this is that he would think twice before he gets behind the wheel of a car and was drinking. That would be my hope that this would accomplish that. I don’t want to ruin his career. I don’t want to defame him in any way or hurt him." The Sheriff’s Department sent prosecutors its case Monday, including an official police report that includes claims that Gibson made anti-Semitic remarks and threatened a deputy, a law enforcement official said. Gibson reportedly unleashed an anti-Semitic tirade and made other offensive comments when he was pulled over, initially for speeding, early Friday in Malibu, California, and was then arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. An arrest report signed by Mee and posted on the celebrity news Web site TMZ quoted Gibson as saying, "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," and asked the arresting officer, "Are you a Jew?" Deputy Mee would not comment specifically on Gibson’s remarks. "That stuff is booze talking," the deputy said in an interview outside his home. "There’s two things that booze does. It amplifies your basic personality. If you are a laid-back kind of person, just an easy going kind of person, booze is going to amplify that and you’ll be just sitting around going how it’s a wonderful day. "But, if you are high-strung person, it’s going to amplify that and all the bad things are going to come out."

To be honest I don’t think he looks Jewish. But I do think this will make Mel Gibson look worse than he already does in more people’s eyes.

Mel Gibson suicidal before the arrest? |

I’m told by a source intimate with his situation tonight that Mel Gibson "was really on the verge of suicide because he felt he was helpless to alcohol and didn’t know what to do about it. That’s why he was driving around 90 miles an hour. This was a death wish. If that cop hadn’t stopped him, this guy was going to be wrapped around a pole. This is such a bigger issue than ‘Will he work again?’ This is about his not wanting to live anymore. I’ve seen what he’s gone through and what he’s going through. You have to understand the disease of alcoholism. He was back in it. There’s no doubt in my mind he was trying to kill himself that night." As for his anti-Semitic slurs during his DUI arrest, I’m told that Gibson doesn’t remember saying them. "Why? He had alcoholic blackout syndrome. I don’t know a lot about it. I’ve not had a lot of experience with it. He has some recollection of parts of the evenings. But he’s not denying he said those things, and if anything he’s owning up to it. But nobody could verify it. Not even he or his lawyers have seen the police report yet." The insider called Gibson’s situation "tragic. It’s not about what people are focusing on, understand that. ‘This is Mel Gibson. He can do whatever he wants. He has all the money in world. He has a wonderful family. He has a wonderful wife.’ They’re not thinking about the real issue here: alcoholism. Nobody is talking about his alcoholism."

Yeah, this is just a tactic for us to feel bad for him. Never heard any other drunk celeb say anti-semitic slurs when they were arrested or overly intoxicated, have you? Next sympathy card because I am still not playing this one.

Mel Gibson’s mugshot |

You know he does not look like the crazed, Jew hating, literally drinking and driving, trying to cheat on his wife man that he was that night? Although those eyes are glazed like a Krispy Kreme donut.

Mel Gibson in rehab |

Star Magazine has confirmed that Mel Gibson has entered an unnamed rehab facility for treatment for alcohol addiction. Gibson’s rep, Alan Neirob, exclusively tells Star, "He is in a program of recovery at this time."Chris Prentiss, a neighbor of Gibson’s and the co-founder of celebrity treatment centre Passages in Malibu, Calif., tells Star: "I understand he has gone to a treatment centre. The center that I’ve heard he’s checked himself into follows the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program. And I don’t believe that will help him." Prentiss — who refused to name the rehab center he’s heard Gibson is in — adds: "He needs individual intense therapy by a team of people who know what they are looking for in causes in alcoholism."
TMZ
I am sure this a save faced forced entry into rehab. His people are hoping we will forget about all of this, but we can not.
