Hugh Laurie has taken up boxing once a week to get rid of some of his House tension according to Daily Mail.
"He goes to a boxing class at least once a week near his home and is by far the oldest in a group of about 12," said a source.
"He is usually quite morose but cheers up enormously during his boxing sessions."
The actor, who has won two Golden Globes for House, has spoken of the toll of his tough work schedule – and the fact that he so rarely sees his wife Jo, 51, and their three children, who have remained at the family's London home.
One of the few things which lifts his mood is boxing.
"It is fascinating," he said. "I swank around thinking I am a big cheese, but you do not feel like that when you are in the ring with a chap who knows what he is doing."
I think he looks great and if it is helping him deal with being apart from his family then more power to him. I would pay to see him in a ring!
Hugh Laurie has not been on the set of House since yesterday afternoon according to Variety. In the same breath that they are saying are not to worry about it they are kind of hinting we should be worried about it?
With little advanced notice, Laurie left Los Angeles for the U.K. Thursday night. That immediately started buzz that something was going on — perhaps Laurie was unhappy?
"Hugh had family obligations in England to attend to, but production is continuing in his absence," a rep for show producer Universal Media Studios said, adding that, per producers, Laurie "asked for time off and they were happy to facilitate it."
But, as one industry insider noted Thursday, it's not often that a star of a hit show — who's in virtually every scene of every episode — decides to just leave in the middle of production. Adding to Thursday's mystery is that producers of the show were oddly tight-lipped, instantly referring media inquiries to publicists.
His people say he will be back on the set by Monday, so let's hope they are right. I am not sure I could handle a Houseless House or no House at all and let's hope that Hugh Laurie was going back home for happy event.
With Novemeber Sweeps starting it also very rare that leads are given time off and in fact they work extra hours to make sure they get all the episodes done to their best. But then again if the lead says I need to go home or I am out of here, I am sure they will compromise.
If you want to be kept in dark on who House will choose for his team, stop reading here.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, two of the House's three new team members are in that picture above. Olivia Wilde, Peter Jacobson and Kal Penn have all been upped to season regulars, so looks like they will be the three replacing Cameron, Foreman and Chase! I am one viewer who has no complaints with these three being chosen! I really liked Olivia Wilde on The Black Donnellys, Kal Penn of course from Harold and Kumar Go to The White Castle and when it comes to Peter Jacobson I like the plastic surgeon being thrown in to the mix!
The script for House selecting his team is being distributed this week, but no air date was revealed. I would assume the last Tuesday of November sweeps against the season finale of DWTS. Side note…House did better than DWTS in the ratings last night! Way to go House!!!
OMG! House is back and better than ever!!! House as we know lost his team in the season finale and I have to admit I don't miss them at all!!! We get some new characters like Wicked Wilson and Conniving Cuddy and both are so awesome! There is something about the way that the three play together that House doesn't need his team. After watching the first two episodes, you kind of feel that they have been weighing him down for the last three seasons…sorry to Jennifer Morrison, Omar Epps and Jesse Spencer.
Besides getting Wicked Wilson and Conniving Cuddy we get a new bunch of doctors (40 to be exact) trying to get a fellowship with House. They include Olivia Wilde from The Black Donnellys, Kal Penn from Harold and Kumar go to The White Castle and Peter Jacobson from The Starter Wife. The new doctors bring new specialties and new interesting ways to solve the cases. BTW the cases are just as good as they were always were and not as predictable because like I said new specialties new ways to solve the cases!!! And for those you who really like House's old team, don't worry they slowly come back in the second episode! So tune into House tonight on Fox at 9p (after Bones) to see what is shaping up to be the best season ever!!!
