LINDSAY Lohan is flirting with sobriety. After a hard weekend of partying with Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, Lohan – who’s been sporting an Alcoholics Anonymous pin – has apparently had enough. A Los Angeles spy reports seeing her yesterday at a 7:30 a.m. AA meeting near her apartment in the Sierra Towers. A friend of Lohan confirmed, "She has attended several meetings and has hopefully decided to turn her life around – this time for good. She is out of control." Lohan skipped Thanksgiving with her mom, Dina, and her family because she knew "someone would force an intervention on her." So Dina – who likes a party almost as much as her wild-child daughter – has arrived in L.A. to convince Lindsay to stay home some nights. The actress is filming "The Best Time of Our Lives" with Keira Knightley for the next five weeks – and then, friends hope "she will really get serious about getting sober. And drop out of the limelight for a while." A rep for Lohan declined comment.
They are the three most photographed women in Hollywood – possibly the world – and usually they claim to be best mates. That’s why it comes as more than a bit of a shock when they start physically attacking each other. Lindsay Lohan has accused her on-again-off-again rival Paris Hilton of hitting her for no reason at a party held at a mutual friend’s house in LA. Sporting a bruise on her left arm, she made the astonishing claim to a camera crew that was waiting outside her Los Angeles hotel. She said: "I’m saying this on tape. She hit me for no reason, apparently, at my friend’s house. I didn’t know she would be there and she hit me with a drink and poured it all over me. It hurts and it’s not OK. "I’m sorry for everyone who thinks I’m crazy but I’m just trying to act." Paris and Britney have become virtually inseparable since Britney dumped her husband Kevin Federline a few weeks ago. While they definitely attended Saturday’s party, no-one in the Paris camp is commenting on the Lohan allegation. The whole affair was the low point of a couple of days that Lindsay would rather forget. After a weekend when all cameras pointed to Paris and Britney, the only attention Lindsay got was from three traffic cops – who ticked her off for speeding.
Garry Marshall volunteered to deliver the "thank you" speech for sister Penny as she was toasted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Friday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Garry told me Penny had undergone dental surgery that day and would have to pantomime his (her) words as he delivered them. Garry was now also telling me about his experience directing Lindsay Lohan in "Georgia Rules." He had politely refrained from making any comments during the filming when Lindsay had been chastised by Morgan Creek’s topper James Robinson for unprofessional behavior — lateness, absenteeism, etc. Principal photography is completed and Garry is in the editing room and Lindsay — well, you know what Lindsay is doing. Her doings with/and without Paris Hilton are daily fodder for fotogs and her followers. But Marshall tells, "Lindsay is going to surprise a lot of people. She’s just 20 and her acting is so good. You’ll see a different Lindsay in my picture. She, Felicity Huffman and Jane Fonda are three great ladies in my picture."
