Killer Hair is a cut above the rest!
June 21st, 2009 under Lifetime. [ Comments: none ]

Based on the “Crimes of Fashion” book series by Ellen Byerrum. Who knew fashion could be dangerous to anything beyond your credit card balance? Lacey Smithsonian (also seen in “Hostile Makeover”), “Crimes of Fashion” columnist, finds herself reporting on more than just this season’s line when dead bodies start showing up in her best friend’s hot DC hair salon. Lacey’s uniquely trained fashion eye catches clues that others miss. The only thing that knocks Lacey from her high-heeled stride is the sudden appearance of Vic Donovan, the guy she left behind and the one man that makes her heart flutter. With her best friends, Stella, a punky hairstylist, and Brooke, an upper crust Georgetown lawyer, at her side, Lacey foils the murderer, solves the mystery and the fashion crime itself, all while meeting the deadline for her column.

Psych’s Maggie Lawson is so likable as Lacey Smithsonian in Lifetime Movie Network’s Killer Hair, the Crimes of Fashion columnist who starts writing about crime when her friend’s co-worker is murdered. Smithsonian’s friend, Stella works as at a hair salon and when one of her co-workers is found dead with a bad haircut, Stella is the only one who thinks it is murder and not a suicide like everyone else and she asks her friend to help prove it. When another one of her co-workers die the same way the police finally take Stella seriously and Smithsonian is getting the story of her lifetime. Will she be able to solve who is killing off Stella’s co-workers and giving them bad haircuts before she gets one herself? Tune into Lifetime Movie Network at 8p tonight for a fun crime movie that is a cut above the rest!!!

Rosie O’Donnell’s America premieres tonight
February 28th, 2009 under Lifetime. [ Comments: 7 ]

Dr. Maureen Brennan (Rosie O’Donnell), a psychiatrist at a youth treatment center, encounters her newest patient, a 16-year-old biracial boy named America. Through their sessions, Dr. Brennan helps America come to terms with his roller-coaster life, which began when he was taken by authorities from his crack-addicted mother and placed into foster care as an infant. In this emotional story, Dr. Brennan works to help him open up about his painful past and discover the support and courage he needs to get his life back on track.

America premieres on Lifetime tonight at 9p and it is a great movie for everyone to watch.
I have to admit I delayed watching this movie because I am not a big fan of Rosie O’Donnell. Maybe because helping Foster children is so important to her, but she did a great job with this movie and I forgot it was the Rosie we got to know starring in it. The movie is so well done and you really get the feel what foster children go through in the system. It is a movie that everyone should watch because sometimes we forget the forgotten and this reminds us not to forget about the children in foster care!
