How we’ll meet Robin Sparkles for the last time?
February 4th, 2013 under How I Met Your Mother. [ Comments: 1 ]

Last week it was announced that How I Met Your Mother would be back for a final season in the fall and as the show wraps up so will some of the sitcom’s biggest character themes that have played out for almost 9 years. Tonight at 8p on CBS we will most likely say goodbye to one of them, so get your tissues ready for Robin Sparkles’ encore. Although show creator Craig Thomas said she could come back one more time before the show ends.
Tonight we will see Robin Sparkles do the full Alanis Morrisette as she goes from pop star to man hating rocker. It is the darkest she has been. Thomas would neither confirm or deny that Dave Coulier is the reason why she has crossed over to the dark side, but he will definitely be referenced. There was one thing he did confirm about the latest Sparkles’ video, he said “It is completely crazy. It may be the craziest Robin Sparkles yet.” Cobie Smulders who plays her said it is Sparkles catchiest song since Let’s Go to the Mall. After listening to P.S. I Love You, I have to say I agree with her and I am sure you will too.
Thomas also said that, “This episode takes How I Met Your Mother’s Canada fetish to whole new heights.” What did he mean by that? Well several Canadians like Alan Thicke, Jason Priestley, Paul Shaffer, Alex Trebek, K.D. Lang, Steven Page, Geddy Lee and Luc Robitaille are all guest starring in the episode. The only one not partaking in the fun is Crash Test Dummies Brad Roberts, who the HIMYM casting department couldn’t find. But they find the robot, so that is an excellent thing!
So now that Robin Sparkles is going into retirement, will Smulders record an album at some point? She said “I would never find myself in a recording studio at any other time in my life.” Then she added, “I won’t. It’s just not going to happen. I don’t sing that well.” I think she does, but then again who hasn’t wanted to be Robin Sparkles? So tune in tonight to see the new and improved(?) Robin Sparkles.

Then at 8:30p Rules of Engagement is back on CBS. The show that the network’s Yes, Dear proves why it just won’t die. During tonight’s season premiere Liz moves in Audrey and Jeff and she will cause a lot of problems for the couple. But not as bad as the problems Russell will cause for Adam and Jennifer. Did I mention that Russell will come between them in the bedroom? It is something you don’t want to miss, so don’t!

HIMYM will return for How we’ll meet the Mother next year!

For over a month we have been waiting for CBS to announce that How I Met Your Mother will be back from another season and today they made it official. The whole cast will be back for the sitcom’s ninth and final season. Since it will be the end for the show, everyone promises we will meet the Mother.
Yesterday when I was on a conference call with EP Craig Thomas and Cobie Smulders to talk about this Monday’s (most likely final) episode with Robin Sparkles that airs at 8p, I asked if they know when we will meet the mother. At first the show creator said this week and then quickly admitted that that was a (sick) joke. He then promised, “It will happen before the series ends.” And then he reiterated the point by saying, “It’s going to happen, I swear!” Then he asked Robin for a comment and she said “It’s just not any time really soon.” To which he responded equally as coyly by saying it could be soon or it could be later.
So with the countdown upon us, we know it will happen in the next 30 episodes. Either that or us longtime fans will be calling everyone involved with the show a mother, followed by a second word…
Oh and since we can’t even get them to tell us when it will happen, they are also not telling us who it could be. So if you could cast the Mother, who would you want to star in the role? I say Bob Saget in drag because it is about time his face made an appearance on the show!

How I Met Your Mother just won’t die
December 21st, 2012 under How I Met Your Mother. [ Comments: none ]

Just when you thought that How I Met Your Mother would be a goner, comes word from Deadline that the whole cast has signed on for a ninth season. There had been rumors that most of the cast was ready to move on especially Jason Segel, but today he decided to give in and re-up for another season. And all I have to say to that is damn you Jason Segel, damn you to hell.
I loved How I Met Your Mother for the first few seasons and couldn’t wait for the next episode, but then around season 4 the show went to sh!t and never got back that original feel. I have been watching since week 1 and now I wonder why I am still making myself give up a half hour week to the CBS show. I don’t care who the mother is at this point, just that Ted finds her and shuts the f*ck up. Seriously the show has turned more into the Barney and Robin love story then Ted’s and that defeats the whole purpose of the show.
Yes CBS wants to bring it back. Yes the cast want it come back. But does it have to? Us fans want it put out of our misery because we all long for the days of Robin Sparkles going to the mall and Barney losing the Slap Bet. Now we just all want to reach into our screens and slap them to shut the f*ck up.
So in other words, all I want for Christmas is for this show to end this season. And I am sure I am not alone.

BTWF roles: Cobie Smulders on Tru Calling
December 3rd, 2012 under Before They Were Famous, How I Met Your Mother. [ Comments: none ]

Before Cobie Smulders had Barney and Ted after her on How I Met Your Mother, she was dating just one guy on Tru Calling. She looks the same now as she did when she was 21 in that 2003 episode.

Can Neil Patrick Harris and his family be any cuter?
November 1st, 2012 under How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris. [ Comments: none ]

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka dressed their two year old twins and themselves up as some of he iconic characters from The Wizard of Oz for Halloween and can that picture be any more awwwwdorable? Seriously how sweet are the two dads with Gideon Scott and Harper Grace? Seriously I got more cavities looking at that picture than I did from all of the candy I stole from my friends’ kid yesterday.
