Spotted a bad casting choice for Gossip Girl, as EW’s Michael Ausiello breaks news that Hilary Duff is joining the show.
The actress-designer-pop chanteuse will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience. She ends up rooming with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) so it’s safe to say she’ll be majoring in Drama!
Seriously, why her? I mean she is better than Michelle Trachtenberg, but not by much.
BTW how cliche is that storyline of an actress who decides to try living the normal life in college, been there, done that on The Best Years. Maybe her character will get a role in a movie (like they always do) and go back to Hollywood never to return to college again.
Hopefully Gossip Girl is planning better storylines than this for their college years.

TMZ posted this video saying that the Duff Sisters Go Crazy. The reporter for KRIV was crazy, but not the girls. So they cursed, I would do the same if a guy like that was following me down a long corridor after my parents’ divorce hearing…wouldn’t you?

Hilary Duff is like all bummed out because she can’t get those gritty roles like you know Dakota Fanning according to IOL. She said that she recently got a juicy script, but when the casting director heard she was interested, they weren’t. “It always shocks me the lack of openness, the lack of imagination that some casting directors have. She said, “I would read a script and be so in love with that, and someone would be like: ‘Hilary Duff? Oh no, we don’t want her for that.'”
Look I am the first to admit, I like her movies because they are sweet and great for a lazy, I don’t want to waste a brain cell Saturday afternoon, but I just can’t see her taking on a juicy role. I don’t know if playing a teenage prostitute like Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) will help to break her sugary sweet image or what exactly it would take to do that? But at least she take some comfort in knowing that The Olsen Twins are not getting those roles either.

|  If Hilary Duff had to choose between singing and acting she would choose…acting according to Digital Spy.
In a recent interview she answered the question by saying, "'Yes I would. I don't think that could ever happen though. I don't think anyone would ever say, 'If I give this to you, young grasshopper, you will have to stop this singing.' But if I had to choose between the two it would definitely be acting."
I don't think it would be a loss if she gave up singing, do you? Now when it comes to her acting I really like her cheesey movies. I know I have issues, but there is something feel good about them.
