Boo! High School Musical gets Haunted for the big screen! |

Walt Disney Co. said it will follow up on the success of its "High School Musical" made-for-TV movie and franchise, by releasing a big screen movie, "Haunted High School Musical" in 2008. The original "High School Musical," made for $4.2 million, was a Romeo and Juliet-style musical widely derided by critics, but embraced by fans around the world. Disney did not reveal the plot of the "Haunted" movie. Disney has said it also plans to release "High School Musical 2" this summer on its cable network, Disney Channel. "(‘High School Musical’) skyrocketed to heights never before achieved by a TV movie, so it’s only fitting that its next incarnation should be as a major motion picture," said Gary Marsh, president, entertainment, Disney Channel Worldwide.

Five of the original cast members of Disney’s phenomenally successful made-for-TV film "High School Musical" will reunite for a 40-city North American tour of the kid-friendly production. The New York Times reports that Vanessa Anne Hudgens (Gabriella), Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay), Lucas Grabeel (Ryan), Corbin Bleu (Chad) and Monique Coleman (Taylor) will all take part in the upcoming tour of High School Musical. The role of Troy, originated by Zac Efron, will be played by Andrew Seeley. Efron is currently filming "Hairspray," based on the Tony-winning musical of the same name. The High School Musical tour is scheduled to kick off Nov. 30 in San Diego, CA. The 40-city tour will continue through Jan. 28, 2007, playing its final stop in Las Vegas. Other tour destinations include Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum on Dec. 29 and New Jersey’s Continental Airlines Arena on Jan. 8, 2007. High School Musical centers on the unlikely friendship that evolves between the jock Troy and brainiac Gabriella at a karaoke contest. Little did the two know that she would be transferring to his school. The duo decide — against their friends’ wishes and to the dismay of school stars (a drama queen and her twin brother) — to audition for the high school musical.

Week 5-TONIGHT
Hey guys,
Tonight’s the night…it’s back out on the dance floor. Last week was a close call. As you all know, I was in the bottom two. SOOOOO SCARY! I’ve put it behind me and am going to do my best to rock it tonight. I’m especially excited because I’ll have friends in the audience. My best friend Aaron flew in from Louisiana to support me. Also,Zac Efron and my girl Ashley Tisdale will be there.
This week is the Rhumba, one of the most passionate Latin dances. Louis and I put some really diffiicult moves in dance…hopeully I won’t break in two…you’ll know what I mean after you see it.
