We get to meet Hetty’s awful husband tonight on Ghosts
January 20th, 2022 under Ghosts. [ Comments: 1 ]

Tonight at 9p on Ghosts on CBS, we get to meet a new ghost. Well, new to us, but old one of the Ghosts.

Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) contractor tells them he found a secret door in the mansion, and it has a hidden passageway that leads to a vault. Of course, they want to know what is in it? They are not the only ones, so do the Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), Travis (Asher Grodman), Sass (Román Zaragoza), Thor (Devan Chandler Long), Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), Flower (Sheila Carrasco), and Pete (Richie Moriarty). Therefore the Ghosts follow the livings down to the vault.

Hetty thinks it might have belonged to her robber baron husband, and she is right. As soon as they figure out the combination and open the door, Elias (Matt Walsh) comes out of the vault. Is Hetty happy to see him, nope? Because he is awful. However, people and animals will get happy when he walks through them. That is his secret power.

If that is not enough to deal with, Sam and Jay’s friends are going to get married in their B&B tomorrow. The couple really needs this to happen, or they will lose their house. Nothing can go wrong. Something that was a lot easier before they had a new ghost in the mix. Elias plans on causing as much trouble as possible because once a jerk, always a jerk.

Will the Ghosts be able to put him in his place, or will he put them in their place since it is his place? I cannot tell you that. What I can tell you is the funniest show on television has its funniest moment of the season. I laughed so hard, I had to rewatch it like 20 times, and I plan on watching a 100 more at least. Tell me if you laughed too! I know you will because it is just that hysterical.

The writers of this show keep proving how witty they are. Not only are they hilarious, they know how to write with a lot of heart. That is a rare combo, and I hope the Emmy voters see that because this is the rare comedy these days that is actually a comedy.

If you have never seen this show, then stop ghosting it and check it out. I promise you are going to fall in love with it at first sight. That is why more and more people are falling in love with every week. While other shows bleed viewers, this one is doing the opposite for good reason!

Long live Ghosts. Wait. Well, you know what I mean.

Jay’s sister comes for a visit on Ghosts!
January 13th, 2022 under Ghosts. [ Comments: none ]

Last week on Ghosts, we met Sam’s dead mother. Tonight at 9p on CBS, we get to meet Jay’s living sister.

Bela (Punam Patel) decides to visit her brother (Utkarsh Ambudkar) because she just went through a bad breakup and wants to escape the memories. Sam (Rose McIver) can’t wait to see her sister-in-law because she is hoping that they can finally bond.

However, as soon as Bela gets there, she says she met a new man online, and he lives near the mansion. So, Bela is happy, and Sam’s plans to cheer her are ruined. Or are they?

Meanwhile, the Ghosts are all upset because one of them has to give up their room so Bela can have it. Pete (Richie Moriarty) being the good guy that he is, offers to give up his room. However, Pete’s new girlfriend, Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) from the basement, doesn’t want to give up her new comfortable bed. Therefore, she teaches Pete to stand up for himself. How will Thor (Devan Chandler Long), Sass (Román Zaragoza), Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), Flower (Sheila Carrasco. Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) and Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) feel about the new Pete.

And then there is pantless Trevor (Asher Grodman). He got his hands on Jay’s iPad and did something he shouldn’t have. Now, he is in trouble. But not before we get to see that he really isn’t a bad guy. He actually has a good heart. And Jay needs a new password.

All in all, it is another lovable episode of Ghosts. And that is why it is this season’s #1 new show. Find out why everyone who watches it is falling in love with it. Each week, they are finding new viewers, will you be one of them this week?

What we can expect from Ghosts this season, including meeting Sam’s mom tonight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfyHuSZyPD4

Ghosts is back for the second part of its first season tonight at 9p on CBS, and this season’s favorite new show has a lot of fun things in the mansion for us in the next few months.

For example, you know how we have been wondering which of the Ghosts would be missing from each episode? Well, that is over with since the show got picked up for more episodes. From now on
Brandon Scott Jones (Isaac), Richie Moriarty (Pete), Danielle Pinnock (Alberta), Asher Grodman (Trevor), Román Zaragoza (Sasappis), Sheila Carrasco (Flower), Rebecca Wisocky (Hetty), and Devan Chandler Long (Thorfinn) will be in every episode.

They will be joined by several guest stars, including Betsy Sodaro, who starts it off tonight, Matt Walsh, Punam Patel, Rob Huebel, and the return of next-door neighbor Mark Linn-Baker.

Besides guest stars, we will be getting more backstories from the Ghosts. That means, according to Executive Producer Joe Port, we are going to have one of the biggest mysteries of the show solved. That mystery is why did Trevor die without any pants on. Inquiring minds want to know, and we don’t need the National Enquirer to tell us why. Or do we?

While Trevor is on his own, we are going to meet family members in the upcoming episodes. Rose McIver let it slip; we are going to meet someone from Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) family next week. She said at the CBS Winter TCA Press Day, “It’s really awesome when we get to see more of where he’s from, and Sam gets to be the outsider a little, in some ways.”

The most awesome casting surprise comes during Sassapiss’ episode. That’s because Zaragoza revealed, “We got to shoot a really exciting episode that’s going to be coming soon about a little bit about my backstory. I can tease a little bit about how my real father [Gregory Zaragoza], who is an actor and the reason I got into acting, gets to play my father. So, it was such an exciting experience.”

And then there is tonight’s episode where we get to meet Sam’s (McIver) mom, who is played by Rachel Harris. Sam hasn’t seen her mom in six years because their last conversation ended in a fight, so she decides that now is the perfect time to visit her. She hopes that maybe they can reconcile things and that her mom will finally be proud of the life she made with her husband, Jay.

Sam and Jay left the Ghosts alone in the mansion with the TV on. But after the television ghosts the Ghosts, Sassapiss reveals that Pete has a crush on one of the ladies. How will she react to this news?

And there is one more piece of news I can share with you. Jay and Sam are going to open their Bed and Breakfast by the end of the season.

With all of that coming up, I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Just when I think I can’t love Ghosts anymore, they pull a really sweet moment like they do at the end of tonight’s episode. It was so endearing that I needed to hug someone, so I squeezed my cat. She is not a fan of the program, but you will be. So watch it on CBS tonight and on Paramount+ anytime.

Ghosts’ Asher Grodman takes his parents to see his billboard at Times Square

Asher Grodman grew up in NYC and went to Times Square all the time. However, this time he was so excited to go there that he brought his parents with him. Why is he so happy to be in the middle of Manhattan with all of those tourists? He was there to see himself in lights. A dream many New Yorkers have but rarely see come true.

For Grodman, it is finally happening, and he can’t stop smiling at his naked legs being as tall as the actor is in real life. Everyone gets to see them in the movable poster for his CBS show Ghosts, and his parents couldn’t be prouder of their son. They are kvelling over their baby. Look at those punims full of pride for their son, who they are going to tell all of their friends and neighbors about at the club.

I can’t say I blame them. The actor is great as Trevor, the pantless Wall Street ghost from the turn of the century.

To see why he is your new crush, then watch him tomorrow and every Thursday at 9p on CBS. Find out why everyone is falling in love with him and the show.

If you missed the first part of the season, then you can watch it on Paramout+ and CBS OnDemand now.

I don’t know what I love more, the sitcom in general, or how excited this cast is about working on this series and with each other. I say it is a mix of both.

What is the cast of Ghosts’ favorite episodes?
December 23rd, 2021 under CBS, Ghosts. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight starting at 8:30p, CBS is going to air a 5-episode marathon of Ghosts, the #1 new comedy on broadcast TV, and rightfully so. The network let the viewers decide which shows they should air for Ghostmas. The audience has spoken, and we chose Pete’s Wife, Viking Funeral, D&D, Alberta’s Fan and Possession.

We did good with our choices, but does the cast agree with us? I recently attended the CBS Winter TCA Press Day, and I asked the cast what their favorite episodes are. What did they tell me?

Asher Grodman, who plays Trevor, the pantless businessman from the ’80s, said, “I’ll say this. But this is a sentimental thing. For me, the pilot is just very special, because it’s what brought us all together, and it was this thing that was kind of floating in the air that we just never were sure was going to come to fruition.” He added. “That’s a nice way for me to side—step your question. But it’s the pilot, because it was just like the —— it was the end of the tunnel.” Sadly, the pilot episode is not airing tonight. However, you can and should watch it on Paramount+ or CBS OnDemand.

While we won’t see that tonight, it is starting off with Pete’s Wife. Three cast members weighed in on that one. Utkarsh Ambudkar, who is Jay a living so he can’t see the Ghosts, said, “I like Pete. I like Pete’s episode.”

Viking Thorfinn, played by Devan Chandler Long, added, “Pete’s was the most emotional. I cried. That was touching. Román Zaragoza, the native American ghost Sasappis, chimed in with, “And Devan, we got to do some fun stuff in that one. That was a beautiful one.” Long concluded with, “Yeah, it was one.”

So what episode does Richie Moriarty, who plays Pete, prefer? He said, “I really liked D&D, too. I loved Brandon [Scott Jones] and Nigel’s storyline. I love John Hartman, who plays Nigel. I think he’s so good,” Then he shared another part of the game-changing episode. “And I love the opening up this opportunity to communicate more with Jay. Having us playing with Jay in that episode was a super fun kind of new window into a great side of things in this show. So that was an exciting episode, too.”

Three other actors talked about an episode that was not centered around them. Flower child Flower, played by Sheila Carrasco, said, “I was going to say, I loved watching Alberta’s Fan. It’s really fun, Danielle [Pinnock] do her thing and watching Rebecca [Wisocky] and Devan have their storyline. It was such a beautifully written, such a well-done episode.” Carrasco did not appear in it, so she wanted to let us know, “It was so cool to be able to watch it as just a fan of all of these amazing actors.”

Critics Choice Award nominee Brandon Scott Jones, who plays the Revolutionary War soldier Isaac, added, “I’ll say that the moment at the end of Alberta’s Fan where she goes, ‘Because I’m famous,’ lives in my head rent-free. And will even long after I’m dead. I will be buried with that in a loop in my coffin.”

Rebecca Wisocky,  who stars as Hetty, the Victorian owner of the mansion they all live in, pitched a future for her co-star by saying, “The flashback that we’re all dying to see is Alberta singing in that club back in the day. That’s our secret cast wish, for that to happen sooner rather than later.”

There was one more actor who added her thoughts. Rose McIver, who sees the Ghosts had a great answer, “I think the Season 2 premiere, when we get that one day, is going to be even stronger.” I kind of agree with her. I would’ve said the 10th season premiere because I don’t want this show going anywhere anytime soon.

To see why I and so many others love Ghosts, tune into the Ghostmas marathon tonight.
