Can you believe this guy is suing Gordon Ramsey?
April 22nd, 2008 under Fox. [ Comments: 1 ]

Can you believe that Martin Hyde is suing Gordon Ramsey and Kitchen Nightmares for $1 million in London for re-airing the show there and Martin says the show ruined his life according to Daily Mail.

Mr Hyde, who lived in Balham, South London, before moving to New York more than a decade ago, said he now lives in fear of being recognised as “that loser from the Ramsay kitchen show”.
“Being ridiculed by Gordon Ramsay on TV has wrecked my life,” he said. ‘Gordon completely assassinated my character.
“My reputation is in tatters and nobody wants to employ me. I’ve only managed to watch it once – because it is like watching myself getting mugged.”
He said he is recognised by British tourists as well as Americans now that the show has aired in Britain.
He also claimed some of the scenes were faked for the cameras.
When the restaurant is shown reopening after Ramsay has made substantial changes, it appears packed with satisfied customers.
Mr Hyde claims many were actually hired extras.
He also claims at one point he was told to lie down and rest, only to be filmed and made to look “a lazy idiot”.
“I’d love people to be able to see the unedited footage,” he said.
“Gordon called me a fake – but the whole show is a fake.”
He claims the producers and Ramsay refused to film the restaurant’s cabaret bar, which produced 70 per cent of its revenue.

Daily Mail says that he is also trying to sue Gordon and Fox here in the states.

Last night a Channel 4 spokesman said: “These allegations were first made public last year as part of a court case in the U.S. and were strongly disputed by the production companies involved.
“Channel 4 is not a party to any court case on these matters.”

Do you think he has a case?

A Kitchen Nightmares update
April 8th, 2008 under Fox. [ Comments: 19 ]

One of the restaurants featured on Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares was Sebastian’s. The owner refused to take Gordon Ramsey’s advice and went back to the menu that Gordon said wasn’t working for him. Well yesterday I drove by Sebastian’s and it is no longer there. There was a new Italian restaurant in its place, the third Italian restaurant in that spot in that 7 years.
So I guess long story, Gordon was right.
BTW I am going to make my friend try the new place with me and I will let you know how it is. Sebastian’s wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good enough for me to go to a second time.

The Return of Jezebel James is worth returning to!
March 14th, 2008 under Fox, Reviews. [ Comments: 1 ]

When I first got the DVD to review The Return of Jezebel James I was like do I really have to watch this. Well I finally put it in and I am shocked to admit I actually really like it.
Parker Posey plays a busy business woman who finds out she can’t have kids, so she asks her estranged jobless sister to bear her child. Six Feet Under’s Lauren Ambrose plays her sister that agrees to do it in order to have a place to live in for the duration of the pregnancy. I know it sounds like a weird premise, but it actually works! It is kind of like those irrelevant sitcoms in the ’80s that they used to do before Sienfeld did a show about nothing and sitcoms got serious.
So tune in the The Return of Jezebel James tonight on Fox at 8p.

The best question ever on The Moment of Truth!
March 13th, 2008 under Fox. [ Comments: 3 ]

OMG! Who knew you could make a wax replica of male private parts and that someone would admit on national TV that they did! I just love everyones reaction to the question and the answer and can you believe that was only the second question for him.
They will say that Michael Greenland answered tougher questions like did he sleep with any of his wife’s sisters that he dated? or did he sleep with any of his friends’ wives, but I personally think the above questions is the toughest one to answer!
Greenland went home with $100,000 after admitting that he did sleep with at least one of his friend’s wives and opted not to go for the $500,000. Wimp. How much worse could the questions have gotten…obviously they were…
BTW I wonder how many candles were sent to the his house and place of employment after last night’s show.

New Amsterdam premieres on Fox tonight at 9p.
March 4th, 2008 under Fox, Reviews. [ Comments: 1 ]

NEW AMSTERDAM centers on a brilliant and enigmatic New York homicide detective unlike any other. And he has a profound secret — he is immortal.
In 1642, JOHN AMSTERDAM (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), then a Dutch solider in the colony of New Amsterdam – later to become New York City — stepped in front of a sword to save the life of a Native American girl during a massacre of her indigenous tribe. The girl in turn rescued Amsterdam, weaving an ancient spell that conferred immortality upon him. Amsterdam will not age, she told him, until he finds his one true love. Only then will he become whole and ready for mortality.
Amsterdam has found this to be a mixed blessing. Over the course of three centuries, he’s experienced endless adventure and honed his many talents. But everyone Amsterdam meets must leave him in time; friends, lovers and children grow old and eventually die, while he remains young. The exhilaration of eternal life has given way to emotional isolation and loneliness; the blessing has become a curse. His sole confidant and current lifelong friend is the sage jazz club owner OMAR (Stephen Henderson), the keeper of Amsterdam’s secret, as well as a few of his own.
Having witnessed its entire history from colonial outpost to mega-metropolis, John Amsterdam is the living embodiment of New York City. He and the island of Manhattan are joined — part and parcel. Bringing to bear the unorthodox techniques and unique knowledge gained from his vast life experience, Amsterdam today is one of the NYPD’s best homicide detectives, sparring with his vibrant, strong-willed partner EVA MARQUEZ (Zuleikha Robinson) as they solve difficult murder cases.

New Amsterdam finally premieres on Fox tonight at 9p after American Idol! I say finally because the show was originally suppose to air in the fall.
The concept of the show is interesting, a man who cannot die until he meets his true love. In the search for true love he has met many women and has had two children that we know of. The pilot also has him chasing a subject and dying (for a little while) from his heart exploding. He is convinced that he had the heart attack because the woman that will free him was there at that time. Now he is on a search to find her so he can grow old and die.
The show also has your procedural crime drama for those of you who are in to that!
So check out New Amsterdam tonight at 9p on Fox!
