Footage of Eric Stoltz in Back to the Future before he was let go
October 12th, 2010 under DVD, Michael J Fox. [ Comments: none ]

via The Hollywood Reporter
It is widely known that Eric Stoltz was the original Marty McFly in Back to the Future, but until now we have never seen him in the role or knew the real reason why Michael J Fox replaced him. I had always heard the rumor that Eric quit the movie because he thought after Mask (I love love love that movie and thought Cher and him deserved Oscars for it) that he was going to be a big serious movie star and this movie was going to ruin that plan. Well that rumor is wrong because in the special features in the upcoming release of Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy DVD that is going to be released exactly 24 years after the movie came out on October 26, 1986, we learn the real reason why he was not in the movie. Robert Zemeckis said that after 5 weeks of filming he was not getting the laughs he had hoped for from Stoltz and made the difficult decision with Steven Spielberg to recast the role. I have often wondered how Back to the Future would have done with him the movie and I don’t think it would’ve done as well with him as the lead as compared to Fox.
I wonder if the red headed actor is going to make a statement about being let go from the movie now that the truth is out there? He has talked about not being in the movie in the past, but he has never really said much about how he felt about being fired from one of the biggest movie franchises of all time.

October 5th, 2010 under DVD. [ Comments: none ]

In fact I think version is even more mesmerizing than the original theatrical release with both the visual animation and the crispness of the audio. Plus with the sing-along feature your whole family can join in and sing the movie’s most famous songs like Be Our Guest and the title track. These are just a few of the many reasons you will love this combo pack and below are all the reasons you will want to make this your very own!!!

* Music and more: All-new music video featuring Disney Channel star
* Classic DVD bonus features

On Saturday I went to the premiere of the DVD and Blu-ray combo pack release at the El Capitan and watched the movie with my friend and her two sons aged 12 and 6. All four of us and everyone in the theater enjoyed watching the remastered sing-along version of Beauty and the Beast whether it was the first time or the millionth time that we saw it! It really is a timeless classic that can be appreciated by people of all ages and both sexes.
Before we watched the movie, I got to speak to Robby Benson aka the Beast and Paige O’Hara aka Belle about the movie they made over 20 years ago and they talked to me about making it and how amazing and special the DVD and Blu-ray combo pack is. You can see their faces light up as they talked about the home version of their Disney classic. It is just that magical.
So what are the Beauty and the Beast up to today? Robby Benson is releasing a book called I’m Not Dead about surviving four open-heart surgeries. He looked just as amazing now as he did when he did the movie originally came out and I am hoping that only good health follows him from now on. I can’t wait to read this book. Paige O’Hara is starring in Menopause: The Musical at the Luxor in Las Vegas and she is working on Judy Garland musical. I would love to hear her voice live, but for now you can enjoy her voice forever when you take home the Beauty and the Beast combo pack!!!

Own Frozen today!
September 28th, 2010 under DVD. [ Comments: none ]

Frozen is out on DVD and Blu-ray today and you want to own this very suspenseful thriller. Three college friends go on a ski trip for the day and decided to take one more ride on the ski lift before calling it a night. Due to a miscommunication the ride is stopped half way through and they are trapped several feet above the ground…too high for them to jump. To make matters worst this happened on a Sunday and the lodge doesn’t open again until Friday. What will they do? How will they survive? Will anyone come for them? Find out in this movie that scares the crap out of you, because it makes you feel like you are part of it and trapped in that chair with them.

The DVD and Blu-ray contains the below special features:
* Audio Commentary with Writer/Director Adam Green and Actors Shawn Ashmore, Kevin Zegers & Emma Bell
* Catching Frostbite: The Origins of FROZEN
* THREE BELOW ZERO featurette
* SHOOTING THROUGH IT Featurette
* BEATING THE MOUNTAIN: SURVING FROZEN Featurette
* Deleted Scenes
* Trailer

In the featurette for Catching Frostbite it explains how director Adam Green came up with the movie and found the right people to fund it. In Three Below Freezing the cast (Shawn Asmore, Kevin Zegers and Emma Bell) explain they got their roles and the special connection between two of the actors that worked really well for them in the movie. Shooting Through It tells how they were able to film the movie several feet above the ground in freezing temperatures and make you feel like you are there. Finally Beating the Mountain documents how the movie was made beginning to end. There is an Easter egg on the special features menu that tells the story of Chair 92 and Adam Green gives us all a mission if we choose to accept it… The DVD also contains deleted scenes that take a lot of blood out the movie.
Frozen is a DVD you will want to own because no matter how many times you watch it it keeps getting scarier because you know what is going to happen and there is nothing you can do about…

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or where ever you are after you watch the Kitten Mitten Endless Loop! I am seriously bummed that they didn’t come with the DVD because I so want a set for my cat. Now forgetting all that cuteness let’s talk a show that is the opposite of cute, but that is what makes it work. So imagine how much fun it is to see when things don’t work for the cast and they suffer a blooper or scenes that didn’t work for the episode. Plus it is fun to see their dating profile, who else besides me is surprised they date at all? If you watch the show, you so know what I mean. Another fun feature on the DVD and Blu-ray is being able to watch the episodes as the cast talk about it. Did I mention the awwwdorable and addictive Kitten Mittens Endless Loop special feature?
Both seasons are a must own, and both are very reasonably priced so buy them now because they will make your day more Sunny!
