The Avengers smash!
September 25th, 2012 under DVD, Marvel Comics. [ Comments: none ]

The Avengers is out now in a Blu-ray Combo Pack and you are going to want to own this year’s biggest movie so you can watch it whenever you want!
I can review the movie that everyone enjoyed, but because everyone has seen it why bother.
What I can tell you, is that owning this Blu-ray Combo Pack is even more special because of all of the special features:

Audio Commentary by Director Joss Whedon
Featurette: Assembling the Ultimate Team
Featurette: A Visual Journey Eight Deleted scenes
Marvel One-Shot: Item 47 (short film)
Second screen
Gag reel
Soundgarden music video – “Live to Rise”

The Featurette that explains how everyone met and worked together on the blockbuster is really cool because it gives you an inside look what it was like on work on the film. Then the next featurette tells how they came up with the sets for the movie and what was the inspiration for the Shield Helicarrier. They really put a lot of thought in it as we all saw when watching the movie.
On a SHEILD note, we get to see a little teaser of what could be Item 47. It is a fun short that stars Jesse Bradford and Lizzy Caplan. The deleted scenes help us learn more about Maria Hill, who wasn’t seen enough in the movie. We also get more of a back story for Captain America and that helps set him in The Avengers even more. Finally who doesn’t love a good gag reel, especially one that includes Robert Downey Jr.
So what more can I tell you to own the must have Blu-ray of the year? Nothing, so go order it already!

Sink your teeth into Bait 3D
September 18th, 2012 under DVD. [ Comments: none ]

Bait 3D is out now in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and you will want to own this disaster horror movie.
Bait 3D is in the vain of those ’70s disaster movies like Earthquake and The Poseidon Adventure, where you don’t know how much worse it is going to get for everyone but it always seem to get more tragic and deadly. In this movie just imagine your worst day and then magnify it by 5.
The movie starts off with a group of people shopping at a supermarket in Australia and then the place is being held up by gun toting crocks. As they fear for their lives, the building starts to shake because a huge Tsunami is heading their way. The massive wave leaves the place submerged in water and the survivors have to find a dry area to wait for help. So they go on top of the freezers to wait out the water, but they are not the only ones in there. A 12′ great white shark is terrorizing them and the survivors in the parking lot. So now they are trapped by water and a killer shark, what can happen next? The wires for the electrical system have dropped down and if the live wires hit the water then they will die by electrocution. So they have to figure a way to turn the power off without getting eaten by the shark. Once they accomplish that the shark is even hungrier for human meat and will do anything to get it. Will they finally find a way to get out of there alive or will the shark be the only to swim out of there? You will have to buy this movie to find out.
If you are like me and you love disaster films and also killer shark ones with lots of blood and awesome deaths, then you are going to freaking love this movie because it has all of that. Plus it stars Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Sharni Vinson (Step Up 3D), Alex Russell (Chronicle), Phoebe Tonkin (The Secret Circle) and Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), so there is an actor for everyone.
So why are you still reading this and not running out to buy it now?

Pocahontas Two-Movie Collection is twice
August 27th, 2012 under DVD. [ Comments: none ]

For the first time Pocahontas and Pocahontas II: Journey To A New World are available together in Two-Movie Collection Blu-Ray Combo Pack. This Disney release is so vivid and beautiful that you can actually see the Colors of the Wind throughout the movies!
The first musical tells the forbidden love story of an Indian Chief’s daughter Pocahontas and British Captain John Smith back in the early 1600’s. Although everything says they should not be together, they find a way to be with each other. But how long can it last since they come from such different worlds. Their love is sweet music just like the songs in the film.
Pocahontas II: Journey To A New World takes place years after the first one and Pocahontas is mourning the death of John Smith. Due to a misunderstanding she is sent to England in order to keep peace between her people and John Smith’s. While she is there she explores this new land and she in invited to a ball by the King. While she is at the dance, she will see someone that will have seeing all the colors of the wind.
The legendary story is a timeless classic thanks to Disney, and you will want to add these movies to your library to enjoy whenever you want.
Besides getting both movies you also get these special features:

Drawing Inspiration: The Lost Story of Hiawatha – During the 1940’s, Walt Disney and his team were developing a full-length animated feature called “Hiawatha.” During the early stages of development for “Pocahontas,” the directors found the “Hiawatha” storyboards and were amazed at what they saw. It directly influenced their development of “Pocahontas.” Now, for the first time ever, the full story of Walt Disney’s “Hiawatha” will be presented by “Pocahontas” co-director Eric Goldberg and animation historian Charles Solomon.
Deleted Song: “If I Never Knew You” – Pocahontas co-director Eric Goldberg introduces this fully animated deleted song, now in hi def. Optional audio commentary with co-directors Eric Goldberg & Mike Gabriel and producer James Pentecost.
The Music of Pocahontas
“Little Hiawatha” Cartoon Short
Deleted Scenes
“Pocahontas” Audio Commentary – with co-directors Eric Goldberg, Mike Gabriel and producer James Pentecost
Virtual Vault- a collection of past bonus features, offered via online streaming

What I really loved about the special features is learning how this musical came about and the drawing inspiration for it. When you watch The Lost Story of Hiawatha you see how Disney remains true to the brand it created 50 years before the movie.
