After what seems like years of waiting Duran Duran's Red Carpet Massacre is finally out and it is better than I ever thought it was going to be.
Duran Duran is a band that has always been ahead of the time musically and with music videos and Red Carpet Massacre is no different than their other albums in that front. While there sound is still Duran Duran, it has modernized to keep up with the times, in fact I think in ways it is way ahead of their time. I will be honest when I heard they were working with the Timbers (Justin Timberlake and Timbaland) I was not looking forward to the album. But I am here to tell you I was wrong because the tracks that they worked on are just as good as the others and helped to shape the sound of the album. The thing that brings this whole album together is Simon Le Bon's distinctive voice that just calls you in! Now when I listen to a CD, I listen to see if there is a hit on it and here is a list of all the songs I think are potential hits:
1. The Valley
2. Red Carpet Massacre
3. Nite-Runner
4. Falling Down
5. Box full o' Honey
6. Skin Divers
7. Tempted
8. Tricked Out
9. Zoom In
10. She's Too Much
11. Dirty Great Monster
12. Last Man Standing
Yes that is the whole track listing! Everyone of those songs could easily be a hit!
So whether you have been a Duranie since the '80s or are looking for a really good album to listen to then Red Carpet Massacre is the one for you!
Thank G-d Duran Duran stood the test of time is all this die hard Duranie can say!!!

Seriously how cool is that? But isn't it dangerous to ask people to submit a fun video for a band that has a song called Girls on Film? Especially with the video that they made for that song? OK! I am off to submit my video because I want to meet D2 in NYC!!!
(Disclaimer I have nothing to do with the contest.)
Duran Duran just keep getting better with age! I love the Ds on Simon LeBon John Taylor's jackets. I wonder if John Taylor's wife is dressing them?
I so wish I was still living in NY because I would be going to all of their Broadway performances and not just their performance on Jimmy Kimmel! I can't wait to buy Red Carpet Massacre on November 13th because they sound as good as they always have!
For the first time in American Music Awards' history we get to choose the song that the band plays. And to make the deal even sweeter is that Duran Duran is the band of choice to choose from.
This year Duran Duran, working in coordination with Coca-Cola and Dick Clark Productions, will allow members of the general public to choose which hit song from the past they perform. Individuals who log on to My Coke Rewards can choose to vote for either Hungry Like The Wolf, Notorious or Reach Up for the Sunrise. Voting at mycokerewards.com begins November 1 and ends November 14.
That is so cool! I can't wait to hear them do Hungry Like The Wolf on the show because you know that is the song that is going to win! I just wish we could choose any song we wanted because I would love to hear them do New Moon on Monday live since Simon LeBon has refused to do it live since I have been seeing their concerts.
The AMAs hosted by Jimmy Kimmel air on ABC on November 18th and Duran Duran's new album Red Carpet Massacre is out on November 13th. I heard the album at their listening party and it is freaking awesome!
Duran Duran has not lost their music video touch with age! That video is so awesome for Falling Down, it is like the good old days when bands actually made music videos…you know like when Duran Duran was first starting out!!!
BTW Red Carpet Massacre is out on November 13th and I heard the album at their listening party with them there and it is bloody amazing!!! I can’t wait until November 13th to get my hands on their CD and I am sure you feel the same! Long live Duran Duran!!!
Once a Duranie….always a Duranie!!!
