On August 31st, Blanco Brown was in a head-on collision near his home in Atlanta. He was rushed to the local hospital where doctors performed a nearly 12-hour surgery on The Git Up singer.
Since then, the Country music star underwent another 12-hour surgery and has been transferred out of the ICU. While he is still in the hospital recovering, doctors do not expect him to need any additional surgeries. The even better news is that his rep at BBR Music Group says that he is expected to “make a full recovery.” Before Brown knows it, he will be Do Si Do’ing again.
Brown and his family are “humbled and deeply touched by the outpouring of love from all over the world.” They also want to thank everyone for praying for him and ask that they continue doing so.
Get well soon. We need more songs from you because we can never get enough of your happy tunes.
Blanco Brown, the singer behind The Git Up and Do-Si-Do, was injured Monday night in a head-on collision near his Atlanta home.
His music label BBR Music Group says that he “suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he underwent a 12-hour surgery to address those traumas. Additional surgeries are expected as he currently rests in the ICU. Blanco, his family and his friends ask for your prayers during this time.”
Last month, the Grammy-nominee posted a video of a woman, who was unable to walk after a car accident in 2019. That woman listened to The Git Up every day and promised him that she would once again dance that happy tune. A year later, she was doing just that. I pray that he will be back to Do-Si-Do again in the near future. We need more artists like him who create happy music.
I first got to know Brown because of his take on the #BottlecapChallenge when he tried to remove the cap like Mariah Carey did. I did not know his music before that. I was so impressed by his viral video that I started listening to his songs, and I haven’t stopped.
Git, I mean get, to know his music today. I promise you will be line dancing with him as I have been. And I am a girl from NYC who doesn’t line dance.
Last year, Blanco Brown’s Git Up became the song that made us want to get up and dance. However, no one more than Megan Pesek. In June 2019, she was hit head-on by a drunk driver and spent eight weeks in a wheelchair. After she got out of the wheelchair, she still had a long recovery to go.
On September 18, 2019, she sent a DM to Blanco Brown, telling him that she listened to his song Git Up every day, and it inspired her to git up. In that note, she promised the singer that one day she was going to dance to it.
Eleven months later, Megan kept her promise, and she is line dancing to his Country song with her daughter. It just goes to show you the power of music to heal people, especially a really happy song like this one.
Brown saw the inspirational TikTok, posted it and wrote, “This made my heart smile and I’m only sharing the Dm screenshot because she wrote it on the video… Just now seeing her update today… Love ya and keep going! This is what music is for… I haven’t won a award but this is the biggest reward! #Purpose Needs No Validation!!! ✅ @smilelove0215 Blessings #TheGitUp ☺️ I pray that people would stop drunk driving 😤”
I am not crying, you are crying. In a time where everything is such a downer, it is nice to see a story of joy! If she can Git Up, so can we. So Do-Si-Do over to your music player, play the song and dance!
Celebrities are used to be surrounded by their fans wherever they go. However, during the coronavirus pandemic, they are going without that windfall.
Blanco Brown went a Target today, and he bumped into a lot of his fans. Therefore, he had to Git Up and showed them so safe love. They were so excited, they Do-Si-Do’ed aka were going around and around and around.
I am already a big fan of Brown’s, and this made me love him even more. If you don’t know his music, then download some of his songs over the weekend. You will love him as much I do.
Charlotte’s Nick Kosir is known as The Rapping Weatherman. However, Fox 46’s meteorologist changed up his tune. He posted a video of him doing some solo line dancing to Diplo and Blanco Brown‘s Do Si Do.
Kosir did such a good job with his moves that The Git Up singer wrote, “Big mood today!!! You kilt it……..✅✅✅✅✅✅”
Now it is time for you to kilt the Do Si Do challenge for yourself. Not only do you get some exercise, but you also get some smiling in. How can you dance to that song and not feel happy?
