Tonight is the season premiere of the most talked about show of the fall season on The CW at 9p, and I talked to Laura Leighton at the premiere party about her return to the new version of Melrose Place. So my first question to her had to be what it was like to get the phone call that she would be part of The CW version, and she told me “I was intrigued. You know, I never expected to be part of this version, and so I was thrilled to go in to find out what they had in mind.” As we all know when she was on the Fox version of the show it looked like Sydney Andrews was dead, but as we have all seen in the promos she wasn’t really. Well that is until a few minutes into the new one and now she really is. She also told me that those missing pieces from the last 12 years of Sydney Andrews’ life will start be filled in. But there is one thing both her and I are dying to know and that is who killed her? So tune in to Melrose Place tonight and every Tuesday on The CW at 9p to watch the mystery of “Who killed Sydney” unfold…
BTW can she be any more gorgeous? She looks absolutely amazing for 41. I think she looks younger than she did when she did Melrose Place the first time around!!!
Before Josie Bissett was married then divorced to a doctor on Melrose Place, she was causing love problems for another one on Doogie Howser MD. She was just 19 when she made her TV debut during that 1990 episode of the show.
Tonight is the night that Melrose Place, the most talked about show of the new season is going to premiere at 9p. The CW version of the hit ’90s show is nothing like the one you knew on Fox. Although there are a few familiar faces like Thomas Calabro and Laura Leighton on tonight’s show, even they are not like the Michael Mancini and Sydney Andrews we knew back in the day. They are so much better in a bad way!
So who has moved in to the hottest complex on TV since they moved out? Well Sydney moved back in to become the landlord, that is until her death. The who killed her storyline and how everyone in the building is associated with her will play out for most of the season. Now back to the new residents, there is Katie Cassidy, who plays junior entertainment publicist, Ella Simms, she will do anything for her clients and do anything and anyone to get them and I do mean anyone. Shaun Sipos, plays Michael Mancini’s son, David Breck and he had an affair with his ex-stepmother Sydney. BTW he is the first one accused of her murder and I am sure he won’t be the last. Colin Egglesfield plays a chef and I think his character Auggie Kirkpatrick is going to heat up this show. He is already heating up my TV screen. He is not the only one, Michael Rady who plays aspiring filmmaker Jonah Miller is my favorite one on the show. Too bad he gets engaged during the season premiere to Riley Richmond played by Jessica Lucas and she hinted to me at the Melrose Place premiere that their engagement might not last??? Stephanie Jacobsen plays a doctor who loses her financial means to pay for medical school and tries out the oldest profession to pay those bills. Lastly there is Violet Foster played by Ashlee Simpson who was the last person to move in to Melrose Place and the first one to find the dead Sydney Andrews.
Just from the description of the residents you can tell this is not the Melrose Place you knew, it is so much better! So why not move in to Melrose Place tonight on The CW at 9p for a show that is not only the most talked about new show of the season…it will also be the most talked about show for the season!!!
Melrose Place is going to premiere on The CW tomorrow at 9p and one of the original cast members, Thomas Calabro who is back for the new one, dished to me about it. He shared with me what it was like to have his first meeting with the new show runners about high stakes show and getting back on the new but old set. Unlike the Fox version he has son on this one and that is not the only change we are going to see for Dr Mancini. He is definitely not the same Michael we are used to seeing and that is a very good thing! So when I asked what we can expect from the upcoming season of the show, he told me “It’s going to be great! By all indications, as far as my experience 32 years in the business, this is going to be a big fat great show.” And after watching the first two episodes of the most talked about new show of the season, I can tell you he is spot on.
So check out the rest of the interview above to see what else we will see from the new Melrose Place and don’t forget to watch it tomorrow on The CW at 9p. Believe you don’t want to miss a second of it because so much is going to happen and you will want to watch it all go down!
Before Thomas Calabro was asking his patients to take off their clothes for him as Dr Mancini on Melrose Place, he was a cop going undercover as a stripper in Ladykillers. Boy did he have some really good moves back when he was 28 in that 1988 movie.
