All the lying
THE dynamics of Streisand’s upcoming bye-bye, ta-ta, latest, newest, most recent, final forever farewell this year tour: Il Divo opens for 10 songs. La Diva Herself then comes on to do 12 songs. Then eight songs together. One duet will be, again, the old "Somewhere," which she somehow gave to mankind in her 2000 after-this-I’m-outta-here-for-good-and-always tour as well as her 1994 this-is-the-last-time-you’ll-ever-have-a-chance-to-pay-this-extravagant-price-per-ticket-to-see-me-in-the-flesh tour. Figures "Somewhere" is the theme for where she’ll work on her next into-the-sunset schlep. After I announced she’s charging $750 a ticket, this gimme-the-money operation then quickly announced that it’s for a charity deal. Now trickling out is that the donation might get phrased as "designated proceeds" – whatever that means. Benefit-type events usually mention how much is tax-deductible. Can she be copping the tax credit when she donates "designated proceeds"? Can those millions she’ll make off this latest in her serial farewell tours slide through the taxman without her personally paying big-time? By the way, souvenirs she’ll hawk this time around include leftovers from the previous farewell tours. They’ll be labeled "vintage collectibles." By the way No. 2: Those $750 tickets are not the Triple-A Superbest. Seats for $1,000 and up include – ready? – a $40 souvenir program. People who love people are not necessarily the people who brainstormed this tour.

Fans are turning their backs on BARBRA STREISAND’s new tour because of outrageous ticket prices, according to reports. The diva is struggling to sell out concerts where tickets cost up to $800 (GBP444) each and promoters are concerned, claims PageSix.com. Fans are also annoyed the tour comes six years after her official ‘farewell tour’ and frustrated by Streisand’s reluctance to commit to promised charity donations, which means ticket-buyers can’t write off the cost as a tax deduction. A source tells PageSix, "Some cities (like) Detroit, where they wanted to do two days, are less than 3,000 sold." The site claims promoters are considering changing venues for the tour – which kicks off in October (06) – and putting on shows in smaller auditoriums. Streisand’s tour spokesman KEN SUNSHINE insists the reports are false, blasting, "That is bulls**t. Tickets are going through the moon." Meanwhile, the 64-year-old is facing lawsuits from disgruntled fans who bought tickets to her 2000 tour believing it to be her last.

I hope it is true because there needs to be a lesson taught to these musicians to 1 – stop saying this is my last tour and 2 – charging over $250 for the nose bleed seats.

BARBRA STREISAND is reportedly facing legal action from angry fans after she announced her upcoming US tour – as they insist they paid a fortune to see her ‘last-ever’ performances nearly a decade ago. The furious former admirers of the superstar are planning to file suit on fraud charges. Streisand, who told fans she was quitting touring for good in 1999, kicks off her tour in October (06).

Sorry I am so sick of musicians saying this is my last tour and it isn’t, so I am glad they are fighting back!
