ET confirms that ANNA NICOLE SMITH died this afternoon at a Florida hospital after she was found unresponsive in her hotel room. She was 39. Upon hearing of her passing, Anna Nicole’s sister, DONNA HOGAN, released the following statement to ET: "On behalf of the Hogan Family, we are saddened and heartbroken by my sister’s death. No matter what our differences have been over the years, Anna was still our blood and she will be missed terribly. She was a woman who was determined to get out of her small town in Texas and make a name for herself. "She became an international star and she was a good mother to DANIEL; there is no doubt that her son loved her. They lived out of each other’s pockets while he was alive and now they can finally be together again in Heaven. "We feel that the death of her son left her deeply saddened, a sadness she hid from everyone. As a mother of three children, I am anguished by this tragic event and the fact that her new baby daughter DANNIELYNN HOPE is now without a mother." Just moments ago, MSNBC filmed Anna Nicole’s body being transported to a separate part of the hospital. It is presumed that she’s been moved to the medical examiner’s office to determine the exact cause of death. An autopsy is confirmed for Friday. The actress and TRIMSPA spokesperson was staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, where she checked in on Monday. Sources tell ET that Anna Nicole was suffering from flu-like symptoms upon her arrival on Monday, but her fever had broken by Wednesday. That afternoon, she fell in the bathroom and hit her head. She said she was feeling fine, had a meal and went back to bed. Today, she retired to her bedroom to take a nap. When she did not wake after a few hours, she was checked on and found unresponsive. Her eyes were also dilated. Florida authorities held a press conference this afternoon to confirm the details of her death.
At 1:38 p.m. Eastern time today, a female private nurse in the sixth-floor hotel room with Anna Nicole called the hotel front desk operator, who has 911 access, for help. Only the nurse was in the room with Anna Nicole at this time. It is not known why a private nurse was with her.
At 1:45 p.m., a bodyguard arrived in the room and administered CPR to Anna Nicole. When the emergency response team arrived, they found Anna Nicole unconscious and unresponsive. She was then rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital, about three blocks away from the hotel.
At 2:49 p.m., Anna Nicole was pronounced dead. The cause of death will be determined by a medical examiner. Investigators are currently processing the scene of the incident. The incident is not being treated as a crime. Her partner, HOWARD K. STERN, traveled to Florida with her, but was not present at the time. ALEX GOEN, CEO and founder of TRIMSPA, released this statement today concerning Anna’s tragic death: "Today, Anna Nicole Smith’s grief-stricken and tumultuous personal life came to an end. Anna came to our Company as a customer, but she departs it as a friend. While life for Anna Nicole was not easy these past few months, she held dear her husband, Howard K. Stern, her daughter, Dannielynn Hope, her most cherished friends, beloved dogs, and finally, her work with TRIMSPA. "Anna knew both the joy of giving life, and the heartache of losing a child. We pray that she is granted the peace that eluded her more recent days on earth, and that she find comfort in the presence of her son, Daniel."

HOLLYWOOD Evidence technicians from the Broward Sheriff’s office removed 8 bags of evidence from the 6th floor hotel suite where Ana Nicole Smith spent the last hours of a troubled life, before she collapsed Thursday afternoon and died a short time later at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. The actress, reality TV star and former Playboy Playmate of the Year was 39. Smith collapsed shortly after 2 PM in the two-room suite at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Gary Bitner, a spokesman for the Seminole Tribe of Florida which owns the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, said a hotel bodyguard apparently made the call to 911 which brought paramedics rushing to the suite. CBS4’s Ted Scouten reported Smith, who has been staying at the hotel with partner Howard K. Stern since Monday, was in the room with a nurse when she started to experience ‘difficulty’. The nurse reportedly called Memorial Hospital directly, and while she was on the phone, Smith’s bodyguard entered the room and began to perform CPR. He was continuing the assistance when paramedics arrived, and they took over as Smith was taken to the hospital. Police confirmed that she was alive when she arrived, but that she died at the hospital. The official time of death was not immediately released. Smith’s body was removed from the hospital in a black SUV shortly before 5 PM. Edwina Johnson, chief investigator of the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office, said the cause of death was under investigation and an autopsy would be done on Friday. CBS4’s Brian Andrews reported that a representative for Smith told him that she was ill yesterday. Stern told Entertainment Tonight that Anna Nicole’s temperature was high Wednesday night. ET Says the couple was shopping for a new boat in Florida. There were six people in the party, which checked in Monday included a nurse, a body guard, Smith and her partner, Howard K. Stern, and two other people who were not identified. Crime Scene technicians for the Broward Sheriff’s Office completed their evidence collection at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday night, and released the suite to the hotel. The crime is being investigated by the Seminole Police Department, with assistance from the Sheriff’s office, because the hotel is on a Seminole reservation. The department said Thursday it does not intend to release police reports or other documents in the case which would normally be public record, according to tribe spokesman Bitner, because the department is not obligated to do so. Because the Seminoles are a sovereign nation, Florida rules of public access to records do not apply. A spokesperson for the Hollywood Police Department, which took the 911 call which brought paramedics, said it would not immediately release copies of that call because of the ‘on-going nature’ of the investigation into Smith’s death.

There are so many questions we all have about her death because it was so sudden and she was so young? Like why was traveling with a nurse? Why was Dannielynn in the Bahamas and not with her? What happens to Dannielynn’s DNA test? And what killed her? It is all so sad and just like the untimely death of her son this is something we will all be talking about for the days to come.

ET breaks news that ANNA NICOLE SMITH and HOWARD K. STERN were planning to marry at the end of this month. Our MARK STEINES had received an invitation to the private ceremony, which was set for February 23, 2007 in the Bahamas. Anna Nicole and Howard were united in a commitment ceremony in September following the tragic death of her son, DANIEL, and birth of her baby girl, DANNIELYNN
HOPE. Although the ceremony was conducted by a priest, it was not a wedding and no marriage certificate was issued. The couple then made plans to legally wed and make their union official.

There is something about the timing of this announcement that does not sound right to me. If is true, and she did not make it to her third marriage it is just another sad chapter in her life.
