This year’s World’s Ugliest Dog is…
June 25th, 2016 under Animals. [ Comments: none ]

It is that time year when the Sonoma-Marin Fair crowns the World’s Ugliest Dog. After a year off, a Chinese Crested once again took the title. Sweetpea Rambo a 17 year old blind Chihuahua Chinese Crested mix might have the title, but I think she is beautiful.
Forget those snooty Dog Shows, this is the only one that matters.

The purrfect crime, a cat holds their owners hostage!
June 24th, 2016 under Animals. [ Comments: none ]

I have a 16 pound cat (she is not overweight, she’s a large breed) who I always make sure is well fed. Why? Because I am afraid she will hold me hostage until I feed her.
While that is my worst fear, for a couple in Wisconsin, it was a reality. A woman called 911 and asked for help. She said, “This is gonna sound like a strange question but we have a cat and it’s going crazy and it attacked my husband and we’re kind of hostage in our house and we’re just wondering who we should call to do something, get rid of the cat or help us.”
According to WDJT, Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission came to couple’s rescue and took the krazy kitty away.
Luckily the only thing that was seriously hurt was the couple’s pride.
Off to give my cat a few extra treats. If I don’t post again for a while, please call animal control.

David Duchovny wants to lick your face!
June 22nd, 2016 under Animals, X-Files. [ Comments: none ]

Remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? Well David Duchovny has a new challenge for you. Mulder wants you to get your face licked by your cats and dogs, and for every lick he would like you to donate a $1 to Target Zero.
According to the website, their mission is, “Target Zero teaches Fellow Cities the Pyramid Program, a proven systematic building of programs and policies to reduce animal intake and increase the live release rate, ultimately getting to zero kill (a 90+% shelter save rate).” A great cause that I can stand behind.
My sweet, beautiful, loving cat was rescued from the LA Shelter the day before she was going to be put down. Had she never been rescued, I would not have the best kitty in the world. I would take part in Duchovny’s challenge, but I can only get two licks at a time from her at the most. While she is not licker, if your cat or dog is then send video of them to Lick My Face and donate.
Imagine a world where your sweet furbaby was euthanized to make room, it is a world I know I don’t want to live in. Thanks to Target Zero for working on a way to end that.
By the way Duchovny, if the kissing was reversed, I would be broke. I make sure my cat is kissed hundreds of times a day because I want her to know that she is loved because she was so close to death.
Finally, I would have no problem licking Duchovny with or without peanut butter.

Skippy the Fleeceless Lamb who needs a wool sweater!
April 28th, 2016 under Animals. [ Comments: none ]

When Skippy was born less than two weeks ago, the lamb was born without a wool coat. So his owner Sally-Ann Fisher told BBC that she gave him one to keep him warm at night. Even tough Skippy’s mom abandoned him, she says he is doing great.
While his biological mom didn’t give a sheep about him, his woolless mom is taking really great care of him. Which is very nice, but then again looking at Skippy’s sweet face, how could you not take care of him?
Oh and I guess you can say he is a sheep in wool’s clothing!

Busch Gardens welcome 2 baby sloths!
April 21st, 2016 under Animals. [ Comments: none ]

Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida is the proud new parents of two baby sloths. Hoffman was born on March 24th and Linnaeus was born 9 days later.
The two are currently nursing, one by human hand and one by her mom, and when they are ready they will make their debut at the park in a few weeks.
The two are not brother and sister, so hopefully we will be reading about their babies in a few years. They are so close in age, they have to mate and make more cute sloths. Right?
