Clay Aiken comes out

Clay Aiken is finally taking the Measure of a Man and saying This is the Night to tell the world (or People Magazine) that “Yes, I’m Gay!”
Good for him for coming out in his own way at his own time! Let’s hope people respect his decision, it will be interesting to see how some of his Claymates will react to the news.
People Magazine is out (no pun) tomorrow, so we be able to read more about his decision then.

New American Idol Judge not working out?

Fox was close to firing the brand new Judge Kara DioGuardi before she even made it to air according to National Enquirer.
FOX execs felt the singer/songwriter/producer came off so "stiff and wooden" during auditions that they seriously considered firing her, an insider told The ENQUIRER.

"They said Kara was terrible and amateurish," the insider revealed. "They wanted to replace her."

But to save the embarrassment of admitting a bad hire, the execs decided to give Kara another chance – and now she's finally showing improvement.

FOX has hired speaking and talent coaches to work with Kara, says the source.

But it's ultimately up to Kara to "get it together."

"If she doesn't, FOX will then have no other choice but to fire her," the insider revealed.

I don't know, but looking at those pictures of her you could tell she wasn't going to add anything to American Idol. Guess I wasn't the only one who thought so. I personally don't think they need a fourth job, but what do I know I am just the person watching the show.

The 4 American Idol Judges get to work
August 26th, 2008 under American Idol 8. [ Comments: none ]

The newly-appointed American Idol Judge, Kara DioGuardi joined the original three Judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson today in Manhattan for her first round of auditions. I want to be positive about her joining the show for season 8, but by looking at those pictures it looks like she is going to be nothing more than boring filler. Why do I have a feeling we will be back to 3 Judges for American Idol 9? Personally I think it is too late in the game to add something that doesn't need to be added…like another Judge.

American Idol adds a fourth Judge
August 25th, 2008 under American Idol 8. [ Comments: 2 ]

American Idol is adding a 4th Judge this season and I have no idea who Kara DioGuardi is but I am sure by January we will know everything about her.

“We are turning the heat up on ‘Idol’ this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table,” said creator and executive producer Simon Fuller.  “She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America 's most successful songwriters.  We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”

“We had originally intended for AMERICAN IDOL to have four judges,” said executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz.  “We’ve seen from our international series that having a fourth judge creates a dynamic that benefits both the contestants and the viewers.”

American Idol said they would be changing things up since Nigel Lythgoe stepped down(?) as Executive Producer and looks they weren't kidding. All I hope for is that she is good and not a waste of filler-time like Randy Jackson.
