David Archuleta's long-rumored stage dad has finally banned from everything but sitting in the audience at American Idol according to TMZ.
Here's how it went down. "Idol" sources tell TMZ Jeff has been a complete pain in the ass, interfering with the entire production. He has badgered producers, the band, vocal coaches and even other contestants. The final straw came this week, when Jeff wanted to change the lyrics to David's first song, "Stand By Me." Jeff insisted on adding a verse from Sean Kingston's hit, "Beautiful Girls." Producers sent him an e-mail telling him the lyrics could not be changed. They were beyond pissed when David sang the song with Kingston's lyrics during the live show.
The day after his dad made him change the lyrics, he was brought in to the AI lawyer's office where they told him he was no longer allowed to be with his son during rehearsals or backstage. I wonder how this will affect David's performances and if this cost him the win. I mean why would the label want to deal with him now that they know his dad will make their life hecks and considering how well the last two Idols sold, is it worth it to them to have a stage dad harassing them throughout the whole process?
American Idol’s failed singer wannabe reporter Chris Bernheisel was told by Simon Cowell during the auditions that he could report on the red carpet from the American Idol finale for his local Fox affiliate in Fresno. But as the time grew closer, he was not getting all of his demands from Fox and the Fresno Fox affil, so he threatened to sue if he did not get all his demands for how he wanted to cover the red carpet and the deal fell through. Well Jimmy Kimmel was touched by his story and made an on-air offer to Chris that he could cover the AI finale red carpet for Jimmy Kimmel Live! if he followed all of Jimmy’s demands. As you can see Chris learned his lesson and we will get to see if Simon Cowell got it right when he told Chris he could cover the AI finale red carpet on May 21st.
Hopefully he will do a good job on the red carpet and not let Jimmy Kimmel down.
BTW on a American Idol/Jimmy Kimmel Live! note, next Friday Ryan Seacrest and Clay Aiken will be guests on the show!!!`
It is no secret that David Cook's brother Adam has brain cancer and Adam has only been out to see his little brother once since the show started. He has only been out once because it is expensive for him to get out her because of his medical needs. The first time he was out here, Terre Haute, Indiana rallied together to make his trip possible. Now David Cook's fans are asking us to all rally together and help to raise the $80,000 needed to get Adam Cook to see his little brother in the finale in two weeks because you know David is going to be there! So please check out Help Bring Adam Back for more information to make it possible. Hopefully the money will be raised and Adam's health will permit him to be there to watch David Cook win American Idol!!!
xoxo Carolyn
UPDATE: Someone asked why the $80,000 request, well it costs $78,000 to Medivac from Indiana to Los Angeles for his medical needs and the rest is for his hotel stay while he in in LA.
So remember Chris Bernheisel who auditioned for American Idol and did not make the cut but had such a winning personality that Simon Cowell said that he wanted him to cover the finale’s red carpet for his local Fox affil. Well now that the finale is three weeks away Fox and the local affil have reportedly said no because of his laundry list of demands according to TMZ.
Well Jimmy Kimmel saw his video plea on TMZ and has asked Chris if he wants he can report for him on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, but after reading Chris’ demands I am not sure Jimmy should still want him.
Chris should be grateful for any opportunity he was offered to cover the red carpet and not be making so many demands. He doesn’t know how a red carpet works especially one as massive as the one for the American Idol finale. I don’t blame the station for wanting their reporter out there, you need someone with experience there. And when it comes to the stars they don’t do interviews with everyone and why does he think they will all stop for him. Plus red carpets for the biggest Hollywood events are really tight and crowded and they can barely fit the reporter and the photog and he wants two more people besides himself. And when it comes to the amount of tickets, it is the hottest ticket in town and he wants 6 of the best seats and VIP?
Crap if I was offered what he was, I would take whatever I could get and be dang happy I got anything at all.
Good luck to Jimmy Kimmel if he says yes, so far Chris has not contacted JKL! about the offer!
