American Idol 6 is just not the same without Sanjaya Malakar
April 19th, 2007 under American Idol 6. [ Comments: none ]

That picture just looks so blah without Sanjaya Malakar.  I am really not looking forward to next week when the remaining American Idol wanna bes sing “life anthem” songs about compassion and hope. You know that is going to be a painfully cheesey theme week, that would've been perfect for Sanjaya.
Bye bye Sanjaya, bye bye.

Bye Bye Sanjaya Malakar
April 18th, 2007 under American Idol 6. [ Comments: none ]

So the bottome 3 on American Idol tonight were Blake Lewis, LaKisha Jones and Sanjaya Malakar and as you can tell Sanjaya is gone. I am so bummed he is gone. He might not have been the best singer, but at least he was fun! But if he follows the other people that left this week like past Idols, he will be OK! Who do you think Vote for the Worst will choose to replace Sanjaya?
Can someone please tell me who is voting for Phil Stacey and Chris Robinson? Seriously Phil needs to go next week.
And why was Blake in the bottom 3? He is the only one I think who can actually have a career, well him and Jordin Sparks.

BTW if you need Sanjaya fix you can go to Entertainment.Wikia that put all his performances on one page.

Whoever is voted off American Idol tonight is in good company
April 18th, 2007 under American Idol 6. [ Comments: 1 ]

Rickey listed the names of the past American Idol contestants who were voted off when there only 7 left and it is not bad a time to be voted off.

The first was Ryan Starr who was on The Surreal Life, Battle of the Network Reality Stars and several other shows.

Second was Kimberly Caldwell who has gone on to be a correspondent and/or host on Fox Sport's 54321, Fox News, the TV Guide Channel and several other shows.

Third was Jennifer Hudson and well she went on to win an Oscar for Dreamgirls.

Fourth is the only one not worth mentioning and that was Anwar Robinson.

Fifth was Ace Young who has had some acting experience should do something soon like the others who were voted out in 7th place.

So whoever is voted off tonight, yes it will stink to be voted out, but know you are in good company. So who will it be? Chances are it will be Phil Stacey who gave another lackluster performance and performed first. But then we could get a surprise and it will the falling fast LaKisha Jones. But then again it could finally be Sanjaya Malakar?

Either way, whoever styled Melinda Doolittle last night my hat is off to you because she finally looked like she was under 65!!!

A Simon Cowell eye roll causes an uproar
April 18th, 2007 under American Idol 6, Simon Cowell. [ Comments: none ]

According to Drudge Report, Fox received several phones complaining that Simon Cowell rolled his eyes when the Virginia native, Chris Robinson sent his support to the people of Virginia Tech. A Fox source told Drudge that Chris thought Simon’s eye roll was “sad and hurtful.” A Fox spokesperson told Drudge, “Look, in his defense, Simon felt Chris was cynically deflecting his criticism,” a FOX executive explained. “It was unfortunate… he clearly was unaware the camera was on him when he rolled his eyes, and he was hardly making a rude gesture to the victims.” I agree with the Fox spokesperson, that it was Simon referring to Chris saying he choose to sing nasally because that is a singing style and not about what happened at VT. Look we all know Country night is painful for Simon and although last night was not bad as year’s past, it was still bad. And when it comes to Chris’ singing I have to admit it was way too nasally for my ears and Chris’ rebuttal was a stupid one.
Also in defense of Simon after Blake Lewis performed Simon made a special note that the 3 Judges send their best wishes and support to the families of the tragedy and he understood it was a tricky week for the contestants. For those of us who watch American Idol on weekly basis we know it would not be Simon’s style to roll his eyes about such a terrible tragedy, but he would roll his eyes when a contestant says something stupid.

UPDATE: Drudge Report got this statement from Nigel Lythgoe:
“This is a sad time for everyone, so it is especially disheartening that a quick camera cutaway could have been misinterpreted. We’re sorry for any grief caused by this misunderstanding, but Simon was not reacting to Chris at that point. He had turned to speak to Paula and didn’t actually hear Chris’ final comments.”
Lythgoe continues: “Everyone at ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ feels compassion for those affected by this tragedy. We opened the show with those thoughts and Simon later expressed sincere condolences on behalf of the judges, recognizing the challenges we all face in dealing with this horrible event.”

Tonight is the dreaded country themed night on American Idol

Why oh why do they do this theme every year? Every year this is one of the most painful nights to Simon Cowell and us and I do not expect tonight to be any different. The only thing I am hoping for is that Jordin Sparks breaks out of the pack, which she has the potential to do if she chooses the right the song. Here's to hoping tonight is not as bad as I think it is going to be.

And I can't wait to see if Sanjaya Malakar will be wearing a mullet in honor of tonight's theme?
