So Michael Ausiello points out that the press scorecard that was sent out at the beginning of the season has been accurately predicting the order that the American Idol contestants are going out. How freaky is that?
Look at the board and follow the Xs provided by Fox. First was Brandon Rogers and then Stephanie Edwards and then all the way to tonight's elimination in the order they were eliminated.
I really hope that the trail has ended with Chris Richardson because I really want Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks in the finals and I don't think LaKisha Jones is the American Idol. I think both LaKisha and Melinda Doolittle would do better on Broadway than in the music world, plus Melinda has musical stage experience.
I only survived last night’s Bon Jovi theme night because of Blake Lewis’ version of You Give Love a Bad Name. That is one of my favorite Bon Jovi songs and when Jon Bon Jovi was nervous that he might mess it up, I felt his pain until Blake started performing. Man he kicked major ass! After last night he is my American Idol this season! Man this guy would be a great concert to see and I hope he wins just so I can buy that single and hear that song live!!! Is it just me or didn’t he look like a young Simon LeBon with the darker hair and that outfit?
I also think the reason I survived the show is that Jon really helped the contestants change up the songs and make them their own! I think he is one of the best coaches that has ever been on American Idol in the show’s history!!! Now when it comes to the performers… I hate Blaze of Glory, but Phil Stacey’s voice worked for the song. The only song I hate more than Blaze is Wanted Dead or Alive and unlike Phil, I don’t think Chris Richardson had the voice to pull it off. In fact at times it was like chalk on a blackboard. When it comes to LaKisha Jones, I just could not get past her outfit. She should not wear pants like that again and the shirt what was the red strip around her middle? I know people will boo me like Simon Cowell, but I am so over Melinda Doolittle. I think she tried too hard with Have a Nice Day. I did not see her as a young Tina Turner, but I actually saw her as an older Tina Turner like when she was in her 50’s. And please if you don’t know the hand symbols, don’t try it. Finally poor Jordin Sparks, that song was not for her. I am surprised that no one told her to do the slow version of the song which probably would have given us all chills. Unlike Simon I loved her look, I think she needs to do that more!
So who is out? I think it will be Chris Richardson and LaKisha Jones because last week is featured in to tonight’s elimination.
And here is a prediction for next week’s Idol loser. In the history of American Idol big shocking eliminations happen with the final four including Tamyra Gray, Joshua Gracin, LaToya London and Chris Daughtry…so I am going with that Melinda Doolittle is out next week. Fourth place is not a bad way to go out with the fellow company behind you.
Am I the only one who found it cruel that no one was voted off American Idol tonight and two will be next week? Although it will make next week a little more interesting. I can see Ryan breaking them into groups of twos asking us which group was voted off…after the commercial break!
And BTW how awesome was the Elvis Presley/Celine Dion duet?
UPDATE: Next week is Jon Bon Jovi week, so by them not eliminating someone yesterday means we will have to suffer through the remaining 6 (not 5) destroy Bon Jovi songs. So not fair, but at least it will be a cruel double elimination. You know the remaining six are more nervous now because it is two of them going out next week!
In the meantime, I am so going to have to mentally prepare for this week, but things I learned after last year’s Queen night is can never mentally prepare yourself enough for how bad it really is going to be.
Sanjaya Malkar is so this year's American Idol, look at him working the WH Correspondents' Association Dinner! And I wonder if this is a sign that Julianne Hough and Apolo Anton Ohno are going to win Dancing with the Stars because they were they invited to the dinner. Not that I would mind them winning! And who knew by Valerie Bertinelli trying to lose weight would make her a star again!
