Woo hoo! What a roller coaster ride of emotions for me with CBS today. First they cancelled my favorite show of the new season Viva Laughlin, but now according to Moonlight Detective my once again favorite new show of the season Moonlight got an order for four additional scripts! Moonlight has been doing well in the ratings and remains strong in the 18-49 up against the major snorefest Woman’s Murder Club. Seriously who under 65 is watching that piece of crap on ABC? Total yawner. Back to Moonlight, let’s hope CBS picks the show up for a full season or “Send Garlic” will be back on! I am stocking up now!!!
“Fever†– Mick is injured in his search for a young woman who is believed to be hiding in the desert. But when the scorching sunlight depletes Mick’s vampiric ability to heal himself, Beth must rush to help him, on MOONLIGHT
I can’t wait to see tonight’s episode and see if uses her blood to save his life/immortality on Moonlight tonight at 9p on CBS. BTW if you missed last week’s episode, Vampires only turn people if they give their blood to the person they are feasting on. So if he only sucks her blood looks like she will be ok…or will she???
“Dr. Feelgood”  Still reeling from Mick’s revelation about his identity, a cautious Beth struggles as she helps him track down a blood-thirsty, renegade vampire who doesn’t know how to deal with his killer urges, on MOONLIGHT.
I couldn’t believe at the end of last week’s show when Mick revealed to Beth that he was a vampire, I seriously thought they were going keep to his identity a secret. I think that was a great move and I can’t wait to see how it plays out tonight at 9p on CBS and the rest of the season. Come on CBS give this show a full season order already, it is doing really good in the ratings and it is keeping most of Ghost Whisperer’s audience!
My favorite new show of the season thus far is back to its second bite on CBS’s Friday night tonight at 9p!
When a convicted murderer from Mick’s past is released from prison, Mick must face one of his worst fears — having the truth of his immortal identity revealed to Beth
I can’t wait to see how he gets out of this one on Moonlight tonight at 9p on CBS.
Moonlight premieres on CBS tonight at 9p and so far it is my favorite new show of the season.
Mick St. John is a captivating, charming- and immortal- private investigator from Los Angeles who defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help the living. In a life-altering twist of fate, Mick was "bitten" 60 years ago by his new bride, the seductive Coraline. Forever 30 years of age, Mick's as handsome and charismatic as the day he was "turned," and he eschews others of his kind who view humans only as a source of nourishment. With only a handful of like-minded confidantes for company, including the eternally young, wealthy and mischievous Josef, a hedge fund trader who relishes his uniqueness, Mick fills his infinite days protecting the living. But one night years ago, a single act of kindness changed Mick when he saved a young girl's life, making him want to be a better vampire. Now their paths cross again and Mick develops a distinctive bond with Beth Turner who has grown into a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter. Reconnecting with her unleashes feelings Mick knows he can't pursue without exposing the part of him that would make him a monster in Beth's eyes. As Mick lives between two realities, fighting his adversaries among the undead and falling in love, he discovers the mysteries and pleasures that a valuable life has to offer.
Moonlight reminds me of great supernatural shows like Angel and Kolchak the Night Stalker, where it relies more on the story and not as much on special effects. Not that there isn't some really cool special effects on the show.
When I read that the show recast almost every role and lost its showrunner, I thought this would have been one of the first shows cancelled. But after seeing the premiere my feelings have completely changed. I was completely blown away how good this show is, it really reminds me of the Vampire movies I really love! It just plays right and the chemistry with the cast really helps this show along so they made the right choice to recast the roles!
BTW this show is a great match with Ghost Whisperer, so once again Friday night is a great night for television! So sink your teeth into Moonlight tonight at 9p on CBS!!!
