Candy Spelling cancels Tori’s TV special about Aaron?
August 7th, 2006 under Aaron/Candy/Tori Spelling. [ Comments: none ]

A special tribute to the late TV producer Aaron Spelling to be hosted by daughter Tori will not air on ABC this fall as planned – after Spelling’s widow and Tori’s mother, Candy Spelling, blocked the project, a source confirms to PEOPLE. Tori was to have served both as host and executive producer of the ABC tribute, according to the source, who said: "All of his (Aaron’s) stars had signed on and some interviews had already been taped. … But Candy wouldn’t release the clips of his shows because Tori was involved in the project. She had it killed." Candy Spelling’s representative, Kevin Sasaki, confirmed to PEOPLE that she had "talked to ABC about releasing the clips for the tribute," but denies that Candy stopped the show. Instead, he says, "she didn’t feel the timing was right … since the Emmys were doing a big tribute to her husband around the same time." He added, "She had nothing to do with this except that she was asked to release the clips and she didn’t think it was the right time, so she turned them down." ABC, which was long associated with Aaron Spelling’s shows, has issued "no comment" about the proposed Spelling special. Meanwhile, the source tells PEOPLE, Candy has agreed to provide clips to rival network NBC for a tribute to Aaron on its Aug. 27 Emmycast. The source confirms that she will attend the Emmy ceremony with son Randy Spelling but that Tori has yet to be invited as part of the family.

Tori Spelling talks about her life since her dad’s death.

ET caught up with newlywed TORI SPELLING in Malibu over the weekend with her husband, DEAN McDERMOTT, and her step-son, JACK. The "So NoTORIous" star opened up about her family’s feud and how she’s been coping since her father’s death. "It’s hard," Tori tells us. "There’s days you want to crawl under a rock and just hide and just wish it would all go away, but being in the limelight, you know that’s the territory. That’s what comes along with it. Everything is exposed about your life." "You get through it with dignity and you know what your truth is, and that’s what’s important," Tori says. "I’m a humble person though. So it’s hard for me to change even in something like this." Throughout the loss, the former "Beverly Hills 90210" star says she’s been grateful for the support of her fans: "I have people come up to me daily and they say, ‘Can I just give you a hug?’ They say, ‘I’ve lost a parent, I’ve lost a sister.’ Suddenly we’re on the same page, we’re equals, and that’s all I want to be. Sometimes you get put on another level as an actor and people aren’t able to take you at face value, so it’s nice to be put on a more humanized level."

Candy Spelling denies Tori is getting less than a million.
July 27th, 2006 under Aaron/Candy/Tori Spelling. [ Comments: none ]

Reports that Tori Spelling may be left with less than £550,000 of her father Aaron Spelling’s whopping £269 million estate have been denied. Kevin Sasaki, a representative of her mother, Candy Spelling, the executor of the late mogul’s estate, said the claims were untrue. And he said that a report in US Weekly magazine that the strained relationship between Tori and Candy was the reason for the inheritance snub was "inaccurate".Making it clear that the Spellings had no comment to makeon what he described as the "family’s business", Sasaki concluded: "I know that based on what I know the claims made by the magazine were ridiculous and inaccurate. That’s all that can be said."The magazine alleges that Tori, 33, who has made no secret of her problematic relationship with Candy, will receive just 200,000 dollars (£107,914) in cash, plus 600,000 dollars (£323,858) in private investments. Tori’s younger brother Randy, 27, who is on good terms with his mother, will be "set for life" according to US Weekly’s sources. With Alzheimer’s listed as a contributing factor on 83-year-old Aaron’s death certificate, the magazine brings into question changes that were allegedly made to the will just three months before his June 23 death.Tori claims she has been financially independent from her family since her rise to fame on teen drama Beverly Hills 90210 in the early 90s. "I’ve worked since I was 16, so I pay for everything with my own money," the actress has said. "Anything I have, I’ve made on my own."

Could Tori Spelling wind up with less than a million from Aaron’s will?
July 25th, 2006 under Aaron/Candy/Tori Spelling. [ Comments: none ]

It reads like a plot in one of Aaron Spelling’s legendary soap operas: Widow Candy, Daughter Tori and the $500 million Spelling TV fortune at stake. As the tabloid-soaked story makes the latest cover of Us Weekly, the magazine’s Katrina Szish told us the feud could turn into a dynasty duel. "Extra" has obtained a copy of Spelling’s will, and the secret inside could spell trouble for Tori. "Tori and her mom, Candy, have been estranged and feuding for years," Szish said. "Candy is executor of the will, and therefore she is in charge of divvying up the $500 million fortune." Us Weekly reports that Tori is set to inherit $200,000, plus $600,000 in investments, that is unless Tori’s mother wants to give her more. "Tori, Aaron’s only daughter is getting less than a million dollars," Szish said. "And Candy’s manicurist will get $25,000, and their home decorator will get $50,000." So why the bad blood between mother and daughter? Tori admitted their relationship has always been difficult, and things didn’t get any better after Tori spoofed Candy on her VH-1 show "So noTORIous." "Many people speculate that this is the way for Tori’s mom to get back at Tori for years of feuding," Szish revealed. Neither Tori nor Candy Spelling are commenting today on this real-life Spelling drama.
