Buddy and Pedro came to the Toronto Zoo in May along with 4 other male and 6 female endangered African penguins and formed a special relationship. The two have bonded in such a way that zoo keepers are questioning if they are gay. One zookeeper told the Toronto Star, “They do courtship and mating behaviours that females and males would do.” So now they are separating the two of them, so they can breed. Sounds like the same argument that a lot people say why they don’t want same-sex marriages to be legal. I just don’t understand why the remaining 4 penguins can’t make up for these two guys. If they are like humans, I am sure they won’t mind the extra sex requirement.
