Barry Manilow has released a few albums in the past with him redoing classics, and he has also done one of all duets with some friends who are also famous singers. Well on October 27th he is doing something he has never done before, he is releasing a duets album where they sing some legendary songs together. Wait, he’s done that before? So how is My Dream Duets different than those other ones? All the singers he is singing with on it have passed on. That’s pretty different.
He dreamed a little dream and now he gets to sing with the likes of The Mamas & The Papas’ Mama Cass.
Although John Denver and him have sung together in the past, it is not something that he can’t do now. That is until this album and you will hear them belt out one last duet together.
Before Manilow was as well known as he is known now, an icon passed away and he wasn’t able to sing with her. Now, Judy Garland makes his heartstrings go zing as his somewhere over the rainbow finally happens.
The tune I am most looking forward to is the one where he makes sweet music with Sammy Davis Jr. The two men will put a smile on our face the way only a Candyman can.
I have a feeling this album is not only a dream for him, that is will also be a dream come true for us too. If you want to order, My Dream Duets it is available on Amazon pre-order now.
