Ashton Kutcher is going to be on National Geographic’s Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge and the actor reveals he had a very scary bout with the autoimmune disease vasculitis.
“Like two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis, that like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium.” the actor told Grylls when he asked Kutcher where he gets his strength from. “It took me a year to build it all back up. You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone. Until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again. I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again. I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again’. Lucky to be alive.”
Since this happened towards the beginning of the pandemic, he was able to battle the illness in secret with his wife, Mila Kunis, and their two children.
Thankfully, Kutcher had to will to fight it and return to how he was before he came down with the disease. Actually, it sounds like he is even stronger than he was before.
