The CW has told one of their new shows what their future holds and for Arrow it is great news! The show’s star Stephen Amell broke the news by Tweeting, “Best way to start a Monday? Getting picked up for your back nine episodes. Thwick. #Arrow” The news comes as no surprise as the DC Comics adaptation kept most of its audience during its second week and I am sure it will only grow from here on out.
Arrow joins Fox’s Ben and Kate and The Mindy Project, and NBC’s Go On, Revolution and The New Normal as the first freshman shows the networks picked up for the season. CBS and ABC have yet to pick up any news shows, although CBS had the first cancelled show of the season.
Meanwhile over at Fox, they are singing the praises of The X Factor by renewing that show for a third season. No word which judges will be back, but I highly doubt Britney Spears will be returning to the show. Maybe they can get Lindsay Lohan to fill her seat.
UPDATE: Renewing shows isn’t only happening on broadcast TV, because Showtime renewed the Emmy winning Homeland for a third season.
