[ # ] Alcatraz and The Finder couldn’t find an audience, but Touch did
May 9th, 2012 under Fox

It is that time of the year when some of our favorite shows find out if they will be back for another season and today Alcatraz and The Finder found out their days are over according to TV Guide. But the news wasn’t all bad because Touch will be back to touch our hearts for another season.
The news about The Finder being cancelled is no surprise because the show just couldn’t find an audience. Could be because it wasn’t watchable. I know I tried several times and I could barely get through the episodes. I wanted it to do well but it just stunk.
Now when it comes to Alcatraz, I kind of figured it was going to be closed forever like the real prison when Fringe got the final season renewal. I can see Fox saying to J.J. Abrams we only have room for one of your shows and we are going to go with Fringe. Probably because they were afraid of the backlash if they cancelled it without a proper goodbye.
Finally the news about Touch makes me as happy as when I watch the show every week. It really has proved to be endearing show that everyone can enjoy and feel good about afterwards.
So half me is happy about the news and the other half is going to miss Alcatraz and the potential it had.

UPDATE: Fox has cancelled two more shows, renewed another two and show’s fate is left in the air. The Hollywood Reporter says that Fox has cancelled the unfunny I Hate My Teenage Daughter and pulled the plug on Breaking In for a second time. Last year I was pissed they ended Breaking In because it was smart comedy, but this year they made several changes to the show that made it hard to watch. So no protesting from me over the news.
But the news wasn’t all bad, Seth MacFarlane is singing the Meat Loaf song Two out of Three Ain’t Bad because Fox picked up Family Guy and American Dad for another season, but they are holding off on doing the same for The Cleveland Show according to Inside TV. Personally I thought that Cleveland was doing better than Dad in the ratings, but then again you never where it is going to air on Sundays because Fox keeps changing its timeslot.
