There have been a lot of great theme songs throughout television history like the one for Greatest American Hero. However, there is one that gets us up dancing every time we hear it, and that is the one for Amen.

The late Andraé Crouch’s Shine On Me just fills you with energy. You cannot sit still whenever it comes on your TVs. Even though GetTV plays it at 6a in the morning, and I cannot even think about getting out of bed.

Don’t believe me that you feel a power go through you when it is on? Look at Sterling K. Brown’s wife, Ryan Michelle Bathe, moving to it. I am so happy he shined a light on her feeling the spirit of the song go through her. Amen!

It is like going to church without leaving the house and listening to the clergyperson preach. Isn’t it?

You know, since Brown’s wife like TV theme songs, maybe she can convince her husband to talk to This Is Us’ Dan Fogelman about writing one for the NBC drama. After all, before he produced the Emmy winning show, he created the musical Galavant. There really is no excuse why This Is Us does not have a better one. Who is with me.

BTW Back to Amen opener if you want to hear the exhilarating tune, then

Oh, here is a little fun fact. Andraé Crouch appeared on The Jeffersons that starred the late great Sherman Hemsley. Hemsley was also the star of Amen. Funny how life goes full circle.
