THE GREATS OF ROTH COMES TO THE NEW BEVERLY CINEMA
February 17 – March 1st, 2008 The New Beverly Cinema is extremely proud to present THE GREATS OF ROTH, a two week film festival programmed by Eli Roth, director of the hit films Cabin Fever and the Hostel series.
The festival is comprised of several of Roth’s favorite films, many of which are difficult to find cult classics rarely shown on the big screen. Roth will introduce select screenings, schedule permitting. The double features have been selected with tremendous care, and will give audiences members a chance to watch these films as they were meant to be seen – on the big screen, with an enthusiastic audience.
Admission to all of the screenings is $7 for adults, $6 for students with ID and $4 for children and seniors. All evening screenings begin at 7:30, with a matinee double feature on weekends. No advance tickets will be sold. The box office opens 15 minutes before the first show. The New Beverly Cinema is located at 7165 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, a block west of La Brea. For more information on the New Beverly, visit our website, newbevcinema.com, or myspace.com/newbeverlycinema. You may email the theater at [email protected] with any questions. What you guys probably don't know about the New Bev is that the theater only shows 35mm movies. You don't realize what a difference there is between 35mm and digital until you see movie shown that way! Plus New Bev is an old school theater and I really miss the feel you get from that type of theater!
Eli Roth blogged why he chose the movies he did for the festival and you seriously have to read why he did!!! Some of his reasons are like totally classic. And BTW he told me that Zapped! is his own personal copy! How cool is it that he actually owns the movie? I might just have to steal it from him since it is not available on DVD.
But getting back to the festival who is up to going to most of those showings with me!!! C'mon Zapped! Caddyshack, Bachelor Party. Mothers Day, Pieces and Carrie!!!
