Lesley Gore passed away today at the age of 68 from lung cancer according her partner of 33 years. She is best known for taking It’s My Party to #1 when she was just 16 years old. She followed that song up with You Don’t Own Me, That’s Where the Boys Are, Maybe I Know and Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows. She also tried her hand at acting and starred in two episodes of the original Batman as Pussycat.
So today let’s keep her spirit alive and belt out It’s My Party and I’ll Cry If I Want To, Cry If I Want To, Cry If I Want To in honor of her great legacy!
