[ # ] My beef with TicketMaster and The Police
March 13th, 2007 under The Police

So those of you who are loyal fans of my site know I am a die hard The Police fan by all the coverage I have given their reunion tour. My love of The Police started as they were ending. They were the band that I owned all their albums and the bought them all again on CD. Not only do I have all their albums, and greatest hits, I also have bootleg CDs and video of them live at shows I never got to see because I was too young. So on New Year's Day when the rumor started The Police might reunite I was so excited. I have been a Duranie forever, but their reunion was like ok and I am still waiting for Go West, but The Police I never thought that would happen. Then the announcement came that they were doing the Grammys and the dream seemed more like a reality. So for the first time in a long time I tuned into the Grammys, and even though I was unimpressed with the new version of Roxanne, I was happy to see them all together again. And knowing the next day they were going to announce their tour, I just couldn't wait. Well when the first dates were announced Los Angeles was off the list, so my hopes were crushed until my friend said they just haven't found a venue yet. Well stupid me missed when they announced that those first tickets were going on sale because those blog posts on Sting's site are not the easiest to read. So I gave up seeing them until I saw that they added a second date for LA and tickets were going on sale on 3/12. So at 9:58 I logged on to TicketMaster (I despise TicketMaster and their surcharges) and waited for 10a to get the tickets I have waited 23 years for. At 10a they had not updated the site so I could not buy the tickets. Finally at 10:01a I was able to request the two tickets I wanted so badly, but the they were already sold out. Yes they were sold out within seconds of them going on sale. That is if they were really available in the first place. Part of it is my fault for being too cheap to give Best Buy and The Police $100 just to purchase tickets for $225 with a $35 surcharge from TicketMaster each. So now there are scalpers selling the tickets I wish were mine.

So here is my beef why even say they are selling tickets on TicketMaster if there were none available. And to The Police for going corporate on something that was suppose to be for the fans. Oh well.  I just needed to vent one more and let out one last cry that I will never see one of my favorite bands live because we all know this is a one time thing.

And BTW this the second time that I have tried to buy tickets on TicketMaster and the event was already sold out. Why say there are tickets when there aren't any. And why must their surcharge be so outrageous. Because when I did call TicketMaster to confirm there were no tickets left for The Police the guy didn't even know who The Police were nor could he find the event. Done
