Tonight at 10p on Syfy’s Warehouse 13 Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (JoAnne Kelly) go where they have never gone before. Not back in time or remote another on earth, but an artifact that transcends and traps them into a Noir novel. How will will they write their way out of there not so swell predicament? We will have tune in for the episode that Eddie McClintock described as “the funnest episode that we shot in the series.”
I recently spoke with the incredible talented and funny actor at the NBCU Summer Press Day and we talked about the making of this episode. He told me that they really cared about making the Noir scenes look authentic to the genre. He explained “It is shot in black and white and it is all done with the same lenses that they used back in the day. So it just doesn’t look like a colored show that is black and white. It is even lit as a Noir episode and such.”
And it wasn’t only the visual likeness that they were focusing on during this episode. There was something else that the actors had to do that was a lot of fun for them and will be fun for us to see. He said, “What was interesting is in those scenes Myka and Pete would have to speak in Film Noir speech. Then if someone would walk out of the room, we would go back to (normal) Pete and Myka. As soon as they came back in we would have to go back to Film Noir speak. It was a good acting exercise for us too.”
Then Eddie told me, see, that he thinks, “the fans are really going to dig it.” And I think for him to say that this is the funnest episode he has worked on in the show’s 49 episodes and counting, I think we are all going to dig it as much as he does.
And if you want to see Eddie McClintock in a completely different type of role, then you are going to want to keep your eye out on his upcoming movie A Fish Story that is currently being seen at film festivals. I don’t know about you, but the trailer for it blew me away. Such an interesting story and seems like all the actors are giving their all for this movie.
