Jackie Doherty has spoken openly about her son Pete in an interview for the first time. "I remember being so proud of my children who were bright," she told The Times. "They would never take drugs or break the law; they were past their teenage years and we’d sailed through those without a hitch." "We haven’t suffered as much as other families of junkies," she added. "Pete’s never stolen from us, never beaten us for money, never brought trouble to our door."Jackie’s book about the Babyshambles frontman, titled Pete Doherty: My Prodigal Son, is published on 11 September.
