According to police, comedienne Ellen DeGeneres was in a car accident Friday afternoon, when her stopped car was reportedly hit from behind by a car that was itself struck by an alleged drunk driver.According to LAPD Spokesperson Jason Lee, DeGeneres and a passenger that appears to be her girlfriend, actress Portia de Rossi, were stopped at a red light at the corner of Sunset & Laurel heading east on Sunset in a 2006 Porsche Carrera. A 2002 Buick LeSabre was stopped behind them. The Buick was struck by a third car, a 2002 Porsche Carrera, driven by an alleged drunk driver identified as a 52-year-old woman.The stopped Buick was then allegedly pushed from behind into Ms. DeGeneres’ car, moderately damaging the back of her Porsche.The alleged drunk driver was arrested and charged with a DUI.Both Ms. DeGeneres and her passenger complained of pain to their backs and necks.
