The exceedingly busy Joel Schumacher – he has no less than three movies in the works – is returning to the world of parasitical creatures of the night.Cue the Doors music, Dust off the Plastic Fangs, Hunt down Billy Wirth. Yep, the man behind one of the finest vampire flicks of all time, “The Lost Boys” (1987), is returning to the genre that has him atop a plinth.Schumacher will direct “Town Creek”, his first vampire pic since he pit wide-eyed innocent Michael against bleached-blonde vampire, David, in the abovementioned $32 million dollar hit. Unfortunately, it isn’t a sequel. Nor a prequel. Nor a remake.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on a West Virginia man who comes to terms with his moral qualms and helps his brother wipe out a family that had been protecting a Nazi vampire and who had kept his brother captive for him to feed off of for years.Schumacher toyed with the idea of doing a sequel to “The Lost Boys” for many years there. At one stage, he was ready to move on “The Lost Girls”, despite only being attached in a producing capacity. The last we heard of it, Village Roadshow were looking for a writer to put the idea – it was said to follow a family who move to a new town and encounter some female vamps (one of whom was going to be played by Britney Spears) – into script form. They obviously didn’t get much further than that.Another idea, one that producer Richard Donner had, was to do a spin-off featuring the characters of The Frog Brothers – the vampire busting duo played by Corey Haim and Corey Feldman – but the studio didn’t care for it.
Moviehole
I waited 2 decades for this sequel and the only thing these movies have in common is Vampires. So I ask why call it Lost Boys 2 if it has nothing to do with Lost Boys? Why not just call it Town Creek?
Sleep all day
Party all night
Never grow old
Never die
It is fun to be a Vampire. . .But you must feed.
I loved that camaign for the orignal movie!
