Conan O’Brien and Neil Patrick Harris attended a benefit for Ojai Playwrights Conference last year and the late night host bid to be an extra on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Well when the producers found out he was the winner, they wanted to give him a speaking role and he turned it down. He thought he would be funnier if he was in the background and you know what he was right.
So watch the clip again, and make sure not to blink at 1:18 in or you will miss him.
BTW I wonder if Jay Leno tried to offer the producers more money and take the part away from Conan?
