Ever since Ariana Grande started working on Wicked in 2022, she has been working non-stop: filming multiple movies, promoting Wicked and Wicked For Good, releasing new music, and now she is on tour. Therefore, she has earned a break.
Grande was not planning on taking one. She was expected to start preparing for the West End’s Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George with Jonathan Bailey. But that is no longer happening. This is the second acting endeavor she has cancelled in a month. She also backed out of appearing in American Horror Story.
Her rep released this statement to People: “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour [on September 1st].
“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny. This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”
The singer has been criticized for her skeletal frame since she started promoting Wicked. However, it has gotten more severe since she started the tour and promoting her new album Petal.
Hopefully, she will get some much-deserved rest starting in a month.
Not only has she been going through a lot professionally, but she also lost her grandmother, went through a divorce, and a breakup in recent years.
It is unclear if the actress will promote Focker-in-Law, which is slated to be released around Thanksgiving—her third year in a row with a film coming out during the holiday. Maybe Thanksgiving should be her holiday, like Christmas is Mariah Carey’s.
